On February 8, 2024, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Corporation and sent his New Year greetings to cadres and employees of the enterprise.

Weng Zuliang visited the new office building of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Corporation, gained a detailed understanding of the development strategy of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Regional Headquarters, as well as the basic situation and business operation of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Corporation, and carefully inquired about the work and life of the employees in the industrial park. He gave full recognition to Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Corporation regarding all aspects of its work, and put forward the general requirements for its transformation and development in the next stage, i.e. "fostering a new atmosphere, making new achievements and creating a new situation".

First, we should foster a new atmosphere. We should fully demonstrate the spirit characterized by innovation and the attitude of pioneering and never accepting defeat, actively promote the collaboration that focuses on the advantages of industrial chain integration and the innovation of business models supported by digitization, and foster a new atmosphere while strengthening our sense of responsibility, mission and urgency.

Second, we should make new achievements. We should fully manifest the economic benefits, value creation and mission of a central state-owned enterprise (central SOE), continuously enhance its core functions and core competitiveness, make efforts from such dimensions as product spectrum expansion, business model innovation and profitability enhancement, and embody these results in the progress indicators.

Third, we should create a new situation. We should conscientiously implement "three overarching principles" to steadily increase the business scale of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. Shanghai Corporation. We should leverage the advantages of local resource endowments, and organically combine them with the industrial advantages of our enterprise to create synergies for development, better achieve high-quality development, and make positive contributions of a central SOE to the local economy of Shanghai.
