On February 29, 2024, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd., and sent his greetings to cadres and employees.

After listening to the general work report of Wang Jionghui, Assistant President of China Minmetals and Chairman and Party Committee Secretary of Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd., Weng Zuliang gave full recognition to the core functions of Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd. as the "main force" and "vanguard team" of China Minmetals in its key responsibility and major business, achievements in resource acquisition, exploitation and prospecting, strategic emerging industries and technological innovation, as well as the spirit of unity and hard work of cadres and employees. He hoped that Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd. would vigorously promote the increase of reserves and production, and further improve its resource guarantee capabilities.

For the next step, Weng Zuliang put forward three requirements:

First, the company should raise political stance, strengthen political responsibility and give full play to the three "extraordinary" roles. At present, Minmetals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd. has a clear positioning, and its development model of relying on industry to support the exploration function is in line with history and current reality. It should consolidate the development model, summarize development experience, maintain strategic focus, enhance strategic initiative, strengthen theoretical innovation, strengthen technical support, and do relevant work around the metal "pedigree" of China Minmetals. It should play an extraordinary role of exploration support for China Minmetals in building a world-class metals and minerals group, play an extraordinary supporting role in the process of China Minmetals fulfilling its original mission and pursuing high-quality sustainable development, and play an extraordinary leading role in the efforts of China Minmetals to strengthen technological innovation, industrial control and safety support.

Second, the company should focus on high-quality development, strengthen and improve the two lines of business, namely, exploration and industry, and make greater contributions to building China Minmetals into a world-class enterprise. It should prioritize the mining industry chain of China Minmetals, enhance its core functions, improve core competitiveness, and coordinate the efforts in "enhancing exploration" and "strengthening industry". "Enhancing exploration" requires efforts in building high-level teams, giving play to the role of strategic scientists and leading talents, cultivating scientific and technological backbone personnel and talent teams with industry influence, strengthening core element guarantee and disciplinary construction, and continuously improving exploration business capabilities and supporting role in key areas. "Strengthening industry" requires efforts in improving product quality, product line and brand, striving for technological innovation and cost optimization in strategic emerging industries, and seizing the strategic commanding heights of industrial development.

Third, the company should conduct the full and strict governance over the Party and the enterprise in a dialectically unified way, create a positive atmosphere of work and entrepreneurship, and promote the high-quality development of the enterprise.
