Guo Wenqing Meets with Wu Shenghua, Governor of Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Qiannan

On December 20th, Guo Wenqing, General Manager of China Minmetals Corporation Co., Ltd. and Chairman of China Metallurgical Group (MCC), met with Wu Shenghua, Governor of Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Qiannan. The two parties had an in-depth discussion on the development of mineral resources, new materials for phosphogypsum and prefabricated buildings.

Guo Wenqing welcomed Wu Shenghua and his party, introduced the development history of the two Fortune 500 enterprises, China Minmetals Corporation and China Metallurgical Group, and their development after strategic restructuring. Guo Wenqing said that China Minmetals is currently building a “four beams and eight pillars” business system oriented to metal mining, metallurgical construction, trade logistics and financial real estate. In the field of metal mining, China Minmetals has

abundant mineral resources including copper, nickel, lead, zinc and lithium in domestic provinces such as Hunan, Guizhou and Qinghai and overseas countries such as Australia, Papua New Guinea, Peru and Pakistan. In the field of metallurgical construction, MCC is a pioneer and a new force in China's steel industry, accounting for 90% and 60% of the domestic and global metallurgical construction markets respectively. In the field of trade logistics, China Minmetals have established trade outlets in over 60 countries and regions and built large-scale logistics industrial parks in Guangzhou, Wuxi and Lanzhou. In the field of financial real estate, China Minmetals has a full financial license and has strong capabilities of investment, financing and resource allocation. Minmetals Land and MCC Real Estate Group are among the 16 enterprises with real estate as the main business determined by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

Guo Wenqing stressed that he hopes that the two sides will organize research on expanding the scope of cooperation on the basis of their partnership, and further deepen the cooperation in the fields of general airport construction, expressways, municipal infrastructure, shantytown renovation, new phosphogypsum materials and fabricated buildings so as to realize mutual benefit, win-win result and common development.

Wu Shenghua expressed his gratitude to Guo Wenqing for his warm reception and his continued support to Qiannan Prefecture. Wu appreciated the development achievements made by China Minmetals after its restructuring, introduced the basic situation of Qiannan Prefecture, and reviewed the partnership with MCC. Wu Shenghua emphasized the abundant reserves of phosphate rock resources, the advanced transportation network and the obvious location advantage of Qiannan Prefecture. The Prefecture government will vigorously promote the project construction of China Minmetals in the Prefecture, provide service support, and set up a working group on specific work with China Minmetals, aiming to further expanding the cooperation fields of the two sides and assist in China Minmetals' business development.

Zhang Zhaoxiang, deputy general manager of China Minmetals, was also present at the meeting. Relevant personnel of Qiannan Prefecture Yu Xianchen, Lan Kangli, Zhang Kuan, Xiong Xiaolong, and chiefs of relevant departments and directly affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals Wang Shilei, Xue Fei, Wang Jionghui, Liu Fuming, Yang Kui and Yuan Silang attended the meeting.
