On the morning of July 6, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Wu Shenghua, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Bijie Municipal Committee and his delegation. The two sides conducted friendly exchanges on further strengthening the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.
Weng Zuliang introduced the business achievements of China Minmetals in recent years to the guests. He said that China Minmetals had thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises and Party building, firmly undertaken the mission of serving and reinvigorating the country through mining industry, and was moving towards its strategic vision of becoming a world-class metals and mining group. In 2021, China Minmetals gained operating revenue of over RMB 850 billion and reached a record high regarding its total profit and net profit with its total assets being over RMB 1 trillion. Since the beginning of this year, China Minmetals has focused on stabilizing growth, fighting against the pandemic and ensuring safety, achieved a "good start" in terms of operating performance in the first quarter, and continuously consolidated its steady and sound development trend.
Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude to Guizhou Province and Bijie City for their long-term strong support to China Minmetals. He pointed out that strengthening the cooperation between the central state-owned enterprises and local governments is our firm strategic choice in our journey of serving and reinvigorating the country through mining industry. Bijie boasts rich natural resources, abundant human resources and broad development prospects. Its unique endowment of mineral resources is highly compatible with China Minmetals' main business, i.e. metals and minerals. He hoped that the two sides could fully tap the potential of cooperation and promote pragmatic cooperation in mineral resources, urban construction and related derivative fields, and continue to create a new chapter of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two sides.
Wu Shenghua thanked Weng Zuliang for his warm reception and gave a brief introduction to the economic and social development of Bijie City. He said that at present, Bijie was focusing on its politics, resource and population advantages, continuously consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation and making every effort to promote rural revitalization for writing a new chapter of high-quality development. Bijie is rich in mineral resources and has huge development potential. Especially, Bijie has developed a profound friendship and laid a solid foundation in its long-term cooperation with China Minmetals. He hoped that the two sides could further enhance understanding, strengthen communication, and continue to deepen cooperation in new energy, mineral resources and other fields and promote win-win development between local economy and enterprises.
Both sides had an extensive discussion on issues of common concern.
Wang Shilei, Vice President and Party Group Member of China Minmetals, Chen Zongjun, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Bijie Municipal Committee and Secretary General of the CPC Bijie Municipal Committee, and Yang Dezhi, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Bijie Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor of Bijie City, were present at the meeting.
