On August 4, Weng Zuliang, Chairman and Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, held a meeting on deepening cooperation with Zhang Guohua, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, Vice Governor of Hebei Province, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Xiongan New Area.
Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude for support of the Party Working Committee and the Administrative Committee of Xiongan New Area to China Minmetals over the past years. He also briefed on the business development status of China Minmetals during recent years. He said that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and strived to build itself into a world-class enterprise with outstanding products and brands, leading innovation, and modern governance as defined by Xi. China Minmetals, with its business scope covering metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate, willingly undertakes the mission of serving and reinvigorating the country through mining industry. Besides, China Minmetals will make its key responsibility and major business even stronger, better, and larger under the guidance of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and work hard to build itself into a world-class metal and mining enterprise with global competitiveness.
Weng stressed that, this year China Minmetals fought to offset negative influences caused by the fast-changing world situation and the multi-point distribution of COVID-19 cases in China. Following the keynote of “stabilizing growth, fighting against the pandemic and ensuring safety”, China Minmetals has consolidated its steady and positive development with a stronger momentum. Together with the Xiongan New Area, China Minmetals has built a solid foundation for cooperation. It is the wish of China Minmetals to deepen communication and to make full use of their respective advantages for both sides to achieve a win-win situation through all-round cooperation in more fields. China Minmetals will also continue to contribute its power to the economic and social development of Xiongan New Area by fully using its advantages and start a new chapter of the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.
Zhang Guohua extended a warm welcome to Weng and his delegation and recognized China Minmetals’ long-term contributions to the economic and social development of Xiongan New Area. Zhang said that Xiongan Area was currently undergoing a key phase where the New Area was subject to large-scale development and construction, while undertaking the dispersal of non-capital functions of Beijing. With the acceleration of key project delivery, the development of key areas and zones such as “Boot” Pilot Area and Start-up Area, the continuous construction of landmark functional dispersal projects, the introduction of the “1+10” dispersal function overtaking policies, and the ever-improving public service, Xiongan New Area is seeing a comprehensive increase in its capacity, cohesiveness, and attractiveness. The New Area will continue to invest more efforts in exploring the construction of infrastructure, completion of public service, improvement of investment and financing systems, and the systematic and institutional innovation. It is a mutual wish to build deepened cooperation. China Minmetals is welcomed to take part in the construction of the New Area and to settle more of its tiers 2 and 3 subsidiaries here. In return, the New Area will introduce more preferential policies and improve governmental services, and continue to work for a friendly environment for the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Others participants were relevant officials of Xiongan New Area including Wan Min, Wang Jiping, Zhai Wei, Yu Guoyi, Ren Dazhi, and Zhang Yaodong, and leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises, including Zeng Jianzhong, Zeng Gang, Liu Lijun, Zhang Shuqiang, Fan Jintian, Yue Wenyan, Yuan Silang, Gao Wujiu, Xi Huixiang, Dong Xiaohui, Liu Cheng and Wang Chengsi.
