On August 9, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, held a meeting with Fu Chaoyang, Secretary of the CPC Putian Municipal Committee, and Lin Xuyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Putian Municipal Committee and Mayor of Putian. The two sides exchanged their views on further strengthening the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude for the support of the CPC Putian Municipal Committee and Putian Municipal People’s Government to China Minmetals over the past years. He also briefed on the business development status of China Minmetals during recent years. He said that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. China Minmetals, with its business scope covering metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate, willingly undertakes the mission of serving and reinvigorating the country through metal mining industry. Besides, China Minmetals will make its key responsibility and major business even stronger, better, and larger under the guidance of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and work hard to build itself into a world-class metal and mining enterprise with global competitiveness. In 2021, China Minmetals gained operating revenue of over RMB 850 billion, ranking 58th in the Fortune Global 500 List.

Weng Zuliang said that China Minmetals attached great importance to the strategic cooperation between the central state-owned enterprises and local governments. During this trip to Fujian, China Minmetals and the People’s Government of Fujian Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, and that the two sides would carry out pragmatic cooperation in many industries. He hoped that on the basis of the existing good cooperation, the two sides could further strengthen communication and exchanges, and make full use of their respective advantages to further deepen the cooperation, so as to achieve a win-win situation, and start a new chapter of the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Fu Chaoyang expressed his welcome to the delegation led by Weng Zuliang, and his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term strong support to Putian. He also briefed on the development status of Putian. He said that the CPC Putian Municipal Committee and Putian Municipal People’s Government had thoroughly implemented the guiding principles in Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his inspection tour to Fujian and the important concept of treating Mulan Creek, and planned to carry out actions in the following 5 areas of industrial development, urban-rural development, people’s livelihood security, primary-level governance, and port building. Fu hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchanges and connection for innovating cooperation modes so as to plan and build a batch of premium industrial projects. At last, he expressed that Putian Municipal People’s Government was determined to enhance coordination with China Minmetals, ensure the provision of factors of production, and make every effort to provide services and support for subsidiaries of China Minmetals with the greatest sincerity.

Leaders of China Minmetals including Liu Caiming, Jiao Jian and Wang Shilei, and senior officials of Putian including Huang Zhenyao, Zhang Zhihong, and Yang Xingbin attended the meeting. Other participants included relevant officials of the Putian authorities, and leaders of China Minmetals’ head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
