China Minmetals Corporation 2022-08-17
On August 8, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Guo Wenqing, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, held a meeting with Lin Baojin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, and Wu Xiande, Mayor of Fuzhou and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further strengthening the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments and on accelerating the docking of projects, and jointly witnessed the signing of an agreement on comprehensively deepening cooperation between China Minmetals and Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government.
Lin Baojin expressed his welcome to Weng Zuliang and his delegation, and his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term strong support to Fuzhou and Fujian. He said that Fuzhou was an important birthplace and practice base for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. At present, Fuzhou is carrying forward the important ideas and major practices initiated by General Secretary Xi Jinping in those years, adhering to the essence of the “3820” Strategic Project Thought, and accelerating the building of Fuzhou into a modern international city. Lin hoped that China Minmetals would continue to give full play to its advantages as a central state-owned enterprise and place more key industries and high-quality projects in Fuzhou. He also added that the government would fully support the development of China Minmetals in Fuzhou, and with cooperation of China Minmetals, set a new example of the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.
Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude for support of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government to China Minmetals over the past years. He also briefed on the business development status of China Minmetals during recent years. He said that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and firmly undertaken the mission of serving and reinvigorating the country through metal mining industry. He also pointed out that China Minmetals would make its key responsibility and major business even stronger, better, and larger under the guidance of the 14th Five-Year Plan. In 2021, China Minmetals gained operating revenue of over RMB 850 billion, ranking 58th in the Fortune Global 500 List. In recent years, China Minmetals has continuously expanded its industrial layout through the cooperation with local governments, and made continuous efforts for enterprise development and local social & economic development.
Weng Zuliang said that China Minmetals attached great importance to the cooperation with Fuzhou, and would further expand and deepen the cooperation with Fuzhou. To this end, he indicated that China Minmetals would expand its strategic layout of industries and investment in Fuzhou so as to push the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments to a new level.
After the meeting, China Minmetals and Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government signed an agreement on comprehensively deepening cooperation. Both sides will adhere to the principle of mutual complementarity, resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win outcome, and achieve a win-win situation through all-round and deep cooperation in more fields.
Leaders of China Minmetals including Liu Caiming, Jiao Jian and Wang Shilei, and senior officials of Fuzhou including Lin Zhonglin, Zhang Dingfeng, and Ye Renyou attended the signing ceremony. Other participants included relevant officials of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, and leaders of China Minmetals’ head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
