On the morning of April 19, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd. and Section Material Branch of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Group Co., Ltd. affiliated to China Tungsten and Hightech Materials Co., Ltd. (“China Tungsten” for short), subsidiaries of China Minmetals for investigation.

At Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools Co., Ltd., Weng Zuliang visited the exhibition hall of R&D center, the National Key Laboratory of Cemented Carbide, and the production lines of integrated cutting tools, indexable cutting inserts and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) cutting tools. He also listened to the company’s report on production and operation, scientific & technological innovation, lean management, and practical activities. The activities, themed at “forging ahead under the guidance of the drawn blueprint”, were organized around five dimensions of the “Progress Index”. Besides, he paid particular attention to the progress made by the company in the research on technical bottlenecks, the integrated development of the industry chain, value chain, and innovation chain, as well as brand building.

In the Section Material Branch of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Group Co., Ltd., Weng Zuliang learned in detail about the development of bar profiles and the replacement of imported products, and carefully inquired about product parameters, categories, and market share. At the exhibition hall, he listened to the introduction to the company’s development history, progress in scientific & technological innovation, development of the National Key Laboratory of Cemented Carbide, production process of the whole industry chain, and overview of products.

During the investigation, Weng Zuliang had in-depth exchanges and discussions with front-line managers, workers and scientific personnel on key issues such as innovations in science and technology, business model, and management model. He hoped that China Tungsten and its subsidiaries would carefully study Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, and continuously improve their ability in industrial control, scientific and technological innovation, and safety support to accelerate the building of a world-class enterprise and a demonstration specialized and sophisticated enterprise that produces new and unique products.
