On March 19, 2024, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Li Zuoxun, Secretary of the CPC Tongren Municipal Committee and his delegation. Both sides exchanged their views on rural revitalization and mineral resource development, etc.

Weng Zuliang pointed out that Tongren boasted a favorable environment and evident geographical advantages. The counties under its jurisdiction, namely Dejiang County and Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, are designated counties for paired assistance by China Minmetals. In recent years, China Minmetals has been thoroughly implementing the CPC Central Committee's decisions and plans regarding rural revitalization and has combined its own strengths with the needs and expectations of the assisted counties. With measures such as dispatching cadres, providing financial support, and offering assistance to develop local industries and boost employment, it continuously enhances the effectiveness of assistance and steadfastly fulfills the political and social responsibilities of a central state-owned enterprise. Next, China Minmetals will continue to optimize its assistance measures and maximize the effectiveness of assistance funds. It will spare no effort to support Dejiang County and Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County in consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation, thereby promoting rural revitalization and achieving common prosperity for all local residents. At the same time, Weng expressed his hope that Tongren City would continue to provide support for the development of China Minmetals' local enterprises. He also hoped that both sides can leverage their respective strengths to promote mutual development.

Li Zuoxun expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term concern for the development of Tongren, especially for its strong support for rural revitalization work in Dejiang County and Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County. He pointed out that in recent years, with the assistance from China Minmetals, rural revitalization work in Dejiang County and Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County had made significant breakthroughs, with the happiness index of the local residents gradually improved. Tongren City has witnessed a remarkable effect in economic and social development. Currently, Tongren City is fully implementing the decisions and plans of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and People's Government of Guizhou Province to promote "refined development of mineral resources." Li hoped that China Minmetals would fully utilize its advantages in capital, technology, and talent to facilitate more cooperation projects in fields such as mineral resource development, so as to provide assistance for Tongren's high-quality development.

The meeting was also attended by Mu Rongkun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tongren Municipal Committee and Mayor of Tongren, Zhang Mao, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tongren Municipal Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Tongren Municipal Committee, Wang Jiezhi, Deputy Party Group Secretary and Board member of China Minmetals, and Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals. Other participants included leaders of relevant headquarter departments of China Minmetals, including Xue Fei, Zeng Gang, Wang Wenhai, and Xing Yan, as well as leaders of China Minmetals' directly-managed enterprises.
