On December 18, 2024, China Minmetals held a meeting with China First Heavy Industries (hereinafter referred to as "CFHI") in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, held cordial and friendly talks with Xu Peng, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of CFHI. Attendees included Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals, and Lu Wenjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CFHI.
Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Xu Peng and briefly introduced the basic status and business achievements of China Minmetals. He noted that over the past 70 years, China Minmetals has evolved from a foreign trade company into a globally influential powerhouse in the metals and minerals industry. The company has formed a business system mainly composed of metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate and has taken the lead in opening up a whole industry chain channel from resource acquisition to exploration & survey, design & construction, mining & beneficiation, smelting & processing, and to trade & logistics. At present, it is earnestly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference, and focusing on ensuring steady growth and industrial strength, while also promoting innovation and reform, and prioritizing cost reduction, risk prevention, and work safety. At the same time, it is committed to playing the "three roles" of central state-owned enterprises in technological innovation, industrial control and safety support. Over the years, the two sides have maintained a close and friendly partnership, fostering a deep bond of cooperation. Thus, Chen hoped that the two sides would further strengthen their strategic partnership by innovating collaboration modes and expanding and deepening cooperation in areas such as mining and metallurgical equipment, high-end materials, the graphite industry, and metallurgical construction. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging their professional and complementary strengths to better fulfill their responsibilities as central SOEs.
Xu Peng expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term support to CFHI. He said that in recent years, CFHI had accelerated its transformation and upgrading and formed a "6+1" industrial layout with a focus on high-end equipment, specialized products, advanced materials, engineering and international trade, modern manufacturing services, renewable energy development and utilization, and emerging industries of the future. Xu noted that the two companies had maintained a strong cooperative relationship, with highly aligned business structures and development strategies, as well as complementary industrial advantages. He expressed his hope for enhanced collaboration, particularly in metallurgical equipment, high-end materials, the graphite industry, and international markets. He also called for advancing full industrial chain cooperation and creating a new cooperative mode based on mutual benefit and shared success.
Participants included the relevant personnel of China Minmetals and CFHI.
