China Minmetals Corporation 2025-01-23

On the morning of January 7, China Minmetals held a meeting with Shanghai Electric in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, had an in-depth exchange with Wu Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric. Wang Xingquan, Party Group Member and Vice President of China Minmetals, and Jin Xiaolong, Party Committee Member and Vice President of Shanghai Electric, also attended the meeting.

Mr. Chen extended a warm welcome to Mr. Wu and his delegation and gave a brief introduction about China Minmetals. He noted that over the past 70 years, China Minmetals had made a leapfrog transition from a foreign trade company to a metals and minerals group by standing up to its responsibilities and making transformations and breakthroughs in response to national strategic development needs. China Minmetals has always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and thoroughly studied and implemented the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Meeting of Central SOE Leaders as it sought to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of its businesses, including metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, sci-tech sectors, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate. It has also held onto sci-tech innovation, the powerful engine driving high-quality development, and fostered new quality productive forces at a faster pace to make continuous contributions to the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources. Mr. Chen also expressed his hope that China Minmetals and Shanghai Electric could, with the established friendly partnership between the two sides, focus on their core responsibilities and businesses, give full play to their professional expertise and comparative advantages, strengthen business connections, and expand the depth and breadth of cooperation in fields such as new energy, new materials, equipment manufacturing, engineering design and construction, and the combination of industry and finance, so as to continuously promote the high-quality, collaborative, and win-win development of both parties.

Mr. Wu extended his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term trust and support for Shanghai Electric. He said that Shanghai Electric, as a leading global provider of industrial-grade, eco-friendly smart system solutions dedicated to smart energy, intelligent manufacturing, and the integration of digital intelligence, had attached great importance to cooperation with China Minmetals. He also expressed his hope that both sides could strengthen cooperation and innovate cooperation models in their respective niches to facilitate the effective implementation of more joint projects.

Participants also included other relevant personnel from China Minmetals and Shanghai Electric.
