On May 28, Chen Dexin, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, traveled to Hegang, Heilongjiang Province, where he toured China Minmetals' graphite project and extended greetings to the frontline cadres and staff.

Chen Dexin visited the geological archive, open-pit mine, tailings pond, processing plant, spherical graphite workshop, pilot base, and digital intelligent control center of the Yunshan Graphite Mining Area, as well as the chemical purification workshop, de-magnetization workshop, high-temperature purification workshop, pilot platform, and R&D laboratory of the high-quality utilization industrial park. He gained a detailed understanding of the company’s production and operations, industrial chain development, technological innovation, safety and environmental protection, and Party building. He fully affirmed the achievements of all frontline staff and workers of China Minmetals' graphite operations, who have long been rooted in the remote northeastern border region, overcome adversities, and worked tirelessly to build an integrated industrial chain covering graphite mining, processing, milling, spheroidization, and purification — thereby elevating the graphite industry from nothing to something, from small to large, and from weak to strong.

During the inspection, Chen Dexin had cordial exchanges with frontline employees, staff workers and scientific innovation teams. He urged the leading group of the graphite business segment of China Minmetals to adhere to the goal of "creating enterprise value and safeguarding employees' dignity", wholeheartedly provide meticulous support for employees in work and life with sincere dedication. He also encouraged all staff to earnestly fulfill the responsibility of safeguarding the industrial and supply chains of strategic mineral resources, and strive to strengthen, optimize and expand the graphite industry.

Chen Dexin stressed the importance of scaling up R&D efforts, bolstering industrial innovation through technological empowerment, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into industrial results, and securing substantive breakthroughs in graphite technological innovation. We must bolster leading enterprises, extend industrial chains and foster industrial clusters to further improve the industrial system. We will advance the transformation of resources into materials, materials into products, and products into industries, accelerate the industrialization of high-value-added innovative products including ultra-high-purity graphite, and build industry-leading benchmarks. We must scale up support for talent, funding and policy areas. We will strengthen talent team building by deploying internal professional personnel, integrating learning with practical work, and conducting targeted training programs in cooperation with local educational institutions. We will scale up R&D investment to accelerate the translation and application of innovative achievements, and build a graphite production and marketing platform to unblock industrial supply and marketing channels.
