On June 24, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, held working talks with Wang Jun, Vice Governor of Gansu Province, who paid a visit to the Corporation. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on further deepening central-local cooperation. Wu Wanhua, Vice Chairman of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of Gansu Provincial People’s Government, attended the talks.

Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to Wang Jun and his entourage, expressed gratitude to the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Gansu Provincial People’s Government for their long-standing strong support for China Minmetals’ business development in Gansu, and briefed them on the Corporation’s development journey and business layout. He stated that guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China Minmetals adheres to its aspiration of serving the nation and shoulders the responsibility of strengthening the country through mining. Over its 76 years of development, the Corporation has grown into a modern metals and minerals enterprise group with five distinctive attributes: mineral‑resource orientation, diversified core businesses, a multi‑sector industrial structure, transnational operations, and a super‑large integrated consortium. It has established six major business segments, namely metals and mineral resources, metallurgical engineering construction, sci‑tech industries, trade and logistics, finance and capital, and real estate development. The Corporation consistently reinforces its core function of safeguarding the supply and security of national metallic mineral resources and steadily elevates its core competitiveness derived from high‑level integrated development across the entire industrial chain. Gansu Province and China Minmetals share aligned strategic goals and complementary industrial structures. Particularly since the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement, bilateral collaboration has entered a new phase of all‑round, in‑depth development. He expressed the hope that both sides would fully leverage China Minmetals’ strengths to meet Gansu’s development needs, take a long‑term perspective rooted in current realities, and step up communication and coordination in scientific and technological innovation, mineral exploration and development, and trade logistics and supply chain security, so as to achieve complementary strengths and win‑win outcomes for the central enterprise and the local government.

Wang Jun expressed sincere gratitude to China Minmetals for its long‑standing presence in Gansu and its contributions to boosting local industrial development, and fully endorsed the specific cooperation proposals put forward by Chen Dexin. He noted that Gansu boasts a complete range of mineral resources and outstanding resource support capacity, with its resource endowments and development potential closely aligning with China Minmetals’ full‑chain industrial development strategy.
