China Minmetals Corporation 2026-06-25
To thoroughly implement the national strategy of building a quality-focused nation and fulfill the work arrangements of the State‑owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) for strengthening quality management in central enterprises, China Minmetals successfully hosted the 2nd On‑site QC Group Achievement Presentation Competition in Chongqing on June 25. Relevant officials from the Corporation’s headquarters, along with principals, experts, and participating contestants from directly managed enterprises and their subsidiaries, attended the event.
Centering on the core theme of improving quality and efficiency at the grassroots level and pursuing innovation and performance improvement on job posts, this year’s competition showcased 25 outstanding QC group achievements submitted by 11 directly-managed enterprises including MCC Group, Minmetals Nonferrous Metals and China Salt Lake. Closely targeting pain points in production and operation and difficulties in technological breakthroughs, the presented achievements cover key fields including process optimization, cost control and quality upgrading, featuring strong practicality and high implementability. They fully reflect the innovative practices of frontline managers and employees in solving practical problems and boosting quality and efficiency based on their job responsibilities.
At the event, each participating team presented the full process of their projects—from tackling challenges and optimizing solutions to implementation and effect verification—using detailed data, typical cases, and visual displays. When compared with the inaugural competition, this year’s entries exhibited comprehensive improvements in innovation, practicality, and standardization, vividly demonstrating the frontline staff’s creative drive and their unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Following a professional evaluation by the expert panel, five achievements—including the Research on a New Gutter‑Free Anti‑Seepage and Drainage Construction Method for Garage Floors submitted by China Metallurgical Construction—were awarded the Special Prize. Six achievements, including Reducing Copper Grade in Slag and Tailings submitted by Minmetals Copper Industry, won the First Prize. Eight achievements, including the Development of an AI Tool Chain Equipment Query System developed by China ENFI Engineering Corporation, received the Second Prize, while another eight achievements—including Improvement of Copper Metal Recovery Rate submitted by Luzhong Mining—were honored with the Third Prize. Five groups of contestants, led by Li Guofeng, were named “Excellent Presenters of QC Achievements,” and five directly managed enterprises, headed by MCC Group, were recognized as “Advanced Enterprises in QC Group Activities.”
Next, China Minmetals will further enhance comprehensive quality management across the Corporation, carry out regular grassroots QC group innovation activities, and foster a sound corporate atmosphere featuring all-staff dedication to quality improvement and technological innovation. The Corporation will continuously unleash the vitality of grassroots innovation and efficiency creation, and inject stronger impetus into its high-quality development through tangible progress in quality upgrading and innovation empowerment.
