On July 1, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, held work talks with Liu Chao, Vice Governor of Qinghai Province, who paid a visit to the Group. The two parties conducted comprehensive exchanges on deepening collaboration between the government and the enterprise. Wang Xingquan, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals, was present at the meeting.
Chen Dexin welcomed Vice Governor Liu Chao and his delegation and extended appreciation to the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Government for their confidence in and support of China Minmetals. He observed that China Minmetals and Qinghai have, over recent years, progressed in close partnership, fully implementing the guiding principles set forth in General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions concerning Qinghai’s development, jointly addressing challenges and pursuing aligned objectives, with continuous investment in salt lake resource development, modern industrial system building, and people’s livelihood security work. Notably, they have achieved landmark progress in the joint construction of a world-class salt lake industrial base, charting a distinct course of high-quality development through effective government-enterprise collaboration. Chen emphasized that China Minmetals is currently acting on the directives issued by Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing following his recent fact-finding mission on the salt lake sector, with concrete action plans and formulate detailed implementation plans and push forward tasks in an orderly manner. He called for enhanced communication and alignment between the two parties, a shared sense of political responsibility, and a unified approach to government-enterprise cooperation. He urged joint efforts to focus on the magnesium metal integration project, breakthroughs in lithium extraction technology, and comprehensive utilization of salt lake resources, with synchronized and integrated actions to expedite the development of a world-class salt lake industrial base, thereby making renewed and greater contributions to the fulfillment of national strategic objectives.
Liu Chao extended appreciation to China Minmetals for its enduring and substantial contributions to Qinghai’s economic and social development. He emphasized that Qinghai attaches great strategic importance to its partnership with China Minmetals, with a robust cooperative foundation and profound mutual trust. Since the inception of China Salt Lake, he noted, China Minmetals has pooled the Group’s full resources and made every effort to advance the cooperation, delivering tangible results and achieving significant progress in the joint development of a world-class salt lake industrial base, thereby realizing a high-level, high-quality win-win cooperation model. He called for intensified communication and more targeted alignment between the two parties, urging both sides to fully harness their respective strengths, proactively address development bottlenecks, and continuously broaden and deepen the cooperative framework, so as to jointly open a new chapter in government-enterprise partnership.
Relevant officials from Qinghai Province and China Minmetals Headquarters attended the talks.
