China Minmetals Corporation 2026-07-17

On July 17, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, held working talks with Liu Enju, Secretary of the CPC Jiayuguan Municipal Committee, who was on a visit to the company. The two sides held in-depth discussions on further strengthening central-local government cooperation. Cheng Zijian, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiayuguan Municipal Committee and Party Secretary and Chairman of Jiuquan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation, and Xu Jiqing, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of China Minmetals, attended the talks.

Chen Dexin welcomed Liu Enju and his delegation, thanked the CPC Jiayuguan Municipal Committee and Government for their long-standing support for China Minmetals’ local business development, and briefed them on the company’s history and operations. He noted that China Minmetals has always been guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, upholding the aspiration of serving the country through mining and shouldering the responsibility of strengthening the nation through mining. China Minmetals actively operates in six business segments: metal minerals, metallurgical construction, technology industries, trade and logistics, financial services, and real estate development. It continues to strengthen its core function of “ensuring the supply and security of national metal mineral resources,” enhance its core competitiveness of “integrated high-level development across the entire industrial chain,” and comprehensively advance the principles of “refocusing on core businesses, positioning industries appropriately, and centralizing resource management,” striving to become a world-class metal and mineral enterprise group with global competitiveness. In recent years, China Minmetals has actively promoted the implementation of the Western Development Strategy in the new era, signing strategic cooperation agreements with local enterprises in Jiayuguan and engaging in practical cooperation in areas such as technological innovation, trade logistics, and supply chain security. He expressed hope that both sides will further deepen their cooperation, expand cooperation areas, and elevate the level of collaboration on the existing foundation, jointly promoting Gansu’s “Seven Regions, One Ecological Barrier, One Corridor” initiative and contributing to the overall work of the Party and the state.

Liu Enju expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term contributions to Jiayuguan’s economic and social development. He noted that Jiayuguan has a strong industrial foundation and a solid industrial base. The city is currently accelerating high-quality economic and social development based on its strategic positioning of “two districts, one city, and one hub.” As a major central state-owned enterprise, China Minmetals possesses integrated advantages across the entire industrial chain, which closely aligns with Jiayuguan’s strategic development positioning. He expressed hope that, leveraging China Minmetals’ advantages in resources, technology, and industry, both sides will continue to deepen cooperation in mineral resource development, metallurgical construction upgrades, new energy materials research, and infrastructure construction. Jiayuguan will continue to leverage its own advantages to facilitate smooth coordination mechanisms and provide high-quality services for China Minmetals’ local projects.

Relevant officials from Jiayuguan City, Jiu Steel Group, and The 404 Company Limited, CNNC 404 Co., Ltd., as well as heads of relevant departments and enterprises at China Minmetals’ headquarters, attended the talks.
