On March 19, Chen Dexin, Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Gustavo Pimenta, CEO of Vale and his delegation. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on further deepening cooperation. The attendees included Xu Jiqing, Vice General Director of China Minmetals.

Chen Dexin welcomed the visit of Gustavo Pimenta and his delegation. He reviewed the friendly cooperation between the two sides and briefly introduced the development status of China Minmetals recently. He said that this year marked the 52nd anniversary of cooperation between China Minmetals and Vale. Upholding the principle of mutual trust, mutual benefits and win-win cooperation, China Minmetals  engaged in fruitful cooperation with Vale in areas such as iron ore trading, screening and ore mixing, non-ferrous metal trade and engineering for a long time, contributing to stronger foundation, more fruitful results, and deeper consensus in their cooperation. Chen hoped that the two sides would make practical efforts to promoting existing projects. It’s also hoped that the two sides would strengthen communication and exchanges, fully leverage the traditional and new advantages of both sides to expand and deepen cooperation, and improve the quality and efficiency of cooperation, thus contributing to sustainable development of green, low-carbon, and sustainable development of the industry.

Gustavo Pimenta thanked Chen Dexin for the warm reception and agreed with Chen Dexin's cooperation proposal. He briefed on latest business status and development plans of Vale. He stated that China Minmetals as a leading enterprise in China's metal and mineral industry, is a strategic partner highly valued by Vale. The teams of the two sides have maintained close communication for a long time, yielding fruitful cooperation outcomes. He hoped that the both sides would strengthen communication and exchanges, find more opportunities and expand the areas of cooperation while actively promoting existing cooperation projects, and make joint efforts in more areas thus realizing high-quality and high-level development with mutual benefits.

Participants included relevant personnel of Vale, and relevant leaders from China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
