On the morning of March 27, China Minmetals and Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited (Jiangxi Copper) held a working meeting in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, along with Zhu Kebing, General Manager and Deputy Party Group Secretary, met with Zheng Gaoqing, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jiangxi Copper, and Zhou Shaobing, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, and General Manager. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on further strategic cooperation.
Chen Dexin expressed gratitude to Jiangxi Copper for its long-standing trust and support toward China Minmetals, and provided an overview of the company’s development history and core profile. He said that since its founding in 1950, China Minmetals has remained committed to it mission of “serving the nation through mining and empowering the country via industrial strength.” The company has evolved from a single-line foreign trade entity into a globally competitive metal and mineral resources enterprise group, establishing a comprehensive business system encompassing metal and mineral resources, metallurgical engineering, technology industries, trade and logistics, and financial real estate, with integrated advantages across the entire industrial chain.
Chen highlighted that China Minmetals’ development strategy is highly aligned with that of Jiangxi Copper. Since their meeting in October last year, both sides have accelerated collaborative projects, achieving tangible progress and outcomes. He proposed deepening communication, broadening cooperation across all domains, and leveraging their respective strengths to foster mutually beneficial growth. Chen emphasized their shared responsibility to safeguard the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources, urging joint efforts to contribute further to this strategic imperative.
Zhu Kebing provided updates on the progress of key collaborative projects between the two parties and outlined next implementation plans. He proposed that both sides continue to act on the principle of mutual benefit, maintain regular high-level consultations, and strive to achieve new breakthroughs in all cooperative initiatives through high-quality and efficient execution.
Zheng Gaoqing expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-term strong support to Jiangxi Copper and provided an overview of Jiangxi Copper’s development profile. He said that Jiangxi Copper has consistently adhered to the development philosophy of leading present with future, continuously unlocking resource value and advancing win-win collaboration with stakeholders. Zheng emphasized that China Minmetals is a strategic partner that Jiangxi Copper highly values and trusts. The two sides have forged profound mutual trust through long-term collaboration, with their partnership gaining significant momentum and achieving commendable results since their meeting last year. He proposed enhancing communication and coordination to jointly seize opportunities and address challenges, intensify collaboration across existing areas, explore new cooperative domains, and achieve mutually beneficial development.
Zhou Shaobing said that Jiangxi Copper remains fully confident in the strategic cooperation with China Minmetals. He expressed hope that both sides would maintain close communication to ensure practical progress in yielding more substantial outcomes from their collaboration.
Personnel from Jiangxi Copper and senior officials from relevant departments and affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals participated in the discussions.
