On July 14, Chen Dexin, Chairman of China Minmetals, visited China Huaye and Beijing Metallurgical Equipment Research Design Institute（MCC Equipment） to conduct research and provide guidance, while extending his regards to the company’s officials and employees.

During his visit in China Huaye, Chen Dexin listened to a comprehensive work report, gained a detailed understanding of the company’s operation and management of mines, and its efforts to undertake primary responsibilities and key business of China Minmetals. Chen encouraged employees to carry forward the spirit of Ma Wanshui and make new breakthroughs. He said that it is necessary to aim high, make highly strategic choices, and clear the development of path of the enterprise. It is essential to focus the company’s efforts on advantageous areas such as resources, thus building itself into a comprehensive service provider for mine construction and operation with international competitiveness. It is vital to seize opportunities to develop overseas mines, leverage our strengths in construction techniques, operation, and management, and actively explore new business models, thus quickly improving operational performance of international mine projects, and building extraordinary overseas brands. It is important to coordinate development and security, and speed up the establishment of a safety management system with work safety responsibility system at its core. Given the extensive coverage and high risks of mines, “one mine, one policy” is implemented to strengthen security management, aiming to realize high-quality development and high-level sound interactions.

During his visit in MCC Equipment, Chen Dexin visited the sci-tech and innovation center, and the exhibition hall of the enterprise, and learned more about the company’s history, sci-tech innovation achievements, key business, production and operation. He pointed out that it is necessary to focus on primary responsibilities and key business, give full play to the comparative advantages, take targeted measures to use special and sophisticated technologies, and make breakthroughs through diversified means, so as to accelerate the commercialization and industrial adoption of sci-tech achievements and realize high-quality development. It is vital to formulate a sound plan set for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, strengthen the cultivation of innovative talents, stimulate the innovative momentum of research teams, and intensify efforts to tackle technological challenges unswervingly following the requirements of “five focuses”, thus embarking on a journey of high-quality transformation with the Institute’s characteristics. It is important to enhance culture building, publicize the glorious history and characteristics of the Company, and encourage employees to fulfill their responsibilities in line with the principle of “success doesn't need to be attributed to my contribution, but my contribution must be part of this success”. It is necessary to deepen and substantiate the study and education of implementing the CPC Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct and deepen and substantiate education, bear in mind that full and rigorous self-governance is an unceasing endeavor, make substantial efforts to gain deep insight, and take concrete measures to tackle challenges and rectify problems.
