Chen Dexin Holds Talks with Zheng Gaoqing, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited

On September 11, 2025, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, held talks with Zheng Gaoqing, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited (Jiangxi Copper) in Nanchang. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on deepening strategic cooperation. Wang Xingquan, leader from China Minmetals, as well as Yu Minxin and Zhou Bing, leaders from Jiangxi Copper, attended the meeting.

Chen Dexin thanked Jiangxi Copper for its long-term support to China Minmetals. He pointed out that both China Minmetals and Jiangxi Copper are pioneers of China's reform and opening-up, with highly aligned strategic layouts and closely connected development philosophies, also jointly shouldering the important mission of serving national strategies. Over the years, the two sides have supported each other and developed together, maintaining extensive and deep friendly cooperation in areas such as overseas mine development and copper trade. Especially since their meeting in Beijing on March 27 this year, the strategic cooperation between the two sides has been further upgraded, project cooperation has accelerated, and synergies have continued to deliver results, consolidating a sound momentum of collaboration. Looking ahead, China Minmetals is willing to establish a regular communication mechanism with Jiangxi Copper, fully leverage its integrated advantages across the entire metal mineral industry chain, and continue to expand cooperation in both domestic and overseas resource development. He emphasized the importance of exploring new areas and hubs of cooperation so that, together, the two sides can better fulfill their mission of safeguarding the supply and security of national mineral resources.

Zheng Gaoqing extended a warm welcome to Chen Dexin and his delegation, and thanked China Minmetals for its support to Jiangxi Copper. He said that Jiangxi Copper and China Minmetals have long maintained a pragmatic and friendly partnership. He expressed hope that both sides would, based on existing achievements, leverage their respective advantages to further expand and deepen cooperation, especially further deepening strategic synergy in areas such as overseas resource development. He added that Jiangxi Copper looks forward to working with China Minmetals to achieve new breakthroughs in high-quality cooperation through joint commitment, innovation, and progress, striving to contribute to serving national strategies.

Participants included heads of relevant departments and directly-managed subsidiaries of Jiangxi Copper and China Minmetals.
