On November 11, China Minmetals convened an AI Promotion Conference. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, attended and delivered a speech. Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director and President of China Minmetals, presided over the meeting. Party Group Members Chen Jianguang, Wang Xingquan, Xu Jiqing, Cheng Yong and Duan Wenwu were present. Wang Yalin, Dean of the School of Automation at Central South University, and Zhang Hehua, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Software at Tsinghua University, were invited to attend.

The meeting reviewed the progress of China Minmetals' "AI+" Action, showcased its ten typical AI achievements, launched the MinLink mobile platform, released the Guangshi Metallurgical Vision Model and Metallurgical Prediction Model, and held a launching ceremony of the Guangshi Mine Safety Model.

The meeting pointed out that China Minmetals has actively advanced its "AI+" Action, focusing on its core businesses with in-depth deployment to achieve remarkable progress with distinctive highlights. It has demonstrated its responsibility as a central enterprise in leading the industry, built a professional talent team deeply integrating AI with industrial development, and further bolstered the Group's confidence and resolve to build a modern industrial system and develop new quality productive forces.

The meeting highlighted the need to enhance political awareness, effectively enhance the sense of mission, responsibility and urgency in promoting AI development, actively develop the digital economy so as to build a second growth curve. It called for accelerating the development of new quality productive forces through the effective allocation of production factors such as resources, capital and data. The meeting also stressed the importance of clarifying the current foundation, accurately assessing the achievements and shortcomings in China Minmetals' AI development, and promoting cross-industry integration. All units in the iron and steel metallurgy sector should take proactive actions to extend their business layout and deepen cooperation with the non-ferrous metals industry. The meeting underscored the importance of keeping to the right work direction, adhering to demand-oriented, problem-oriented and value-oriented principles, empowering core businesses with AI, and supporting the strategy of "focusing on core businesses, rationalizing industrial positioning and consolidating resources". It is also required to strengthen institutional mechanisms to make them more systematic, targeted and effective, adhering to bottom-line thinking to safeguard security, and solidly promoting the implementation of the "AI+" Action.

The meeting, held both on-site and via video link, was attended by heads of relevant headquarter departments, all directly-managed subsidiaries and key subsidiaries of China Minmetals .
