On November 12, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, held working talks in Taiyuan with Tang Dengjie, secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, and Lu Dongliang, deputy secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and governor of Shanxi province. The discussions focused on thoroughly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions during his inspection in Shanxi, fully implementing the new round of strategic initiatives aimed at breakthroughs in mineral exploration, and jointly building an important national energy and raw material base. Dong Xiaoyu, a member of the standing committee of the Communist Party of China Shanxi Provincial Committee and executive deputy governor of Shanxi province, participated in the talks.
Lu Dongliang pointed out that Shanxi is not only a major energy province but also an important mineral resource province. Currently, Shanxi is steadily advancing transformation and development in an orderly manner, accelerating energy transition, industrial upgrading and appropriate diversified development. He expressed hope that focusing on mutual development needs, the two sides would enhance coordination in planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, deepen cooperation in areas including metal mineral resource exploration and development, building a complete non-ferrous metal industrial chain, mine ecological restoration and solid waste disposal, green power park construction and operation, bulk commodity trade and supply chain guarantee, in order to help build a modern industrial system with Shanxi characteristics and comparative advantages. Shanxi will provide robust service guarantees and a favorable environment for China Minmetals' development within the province.
Chen Dexin stated that China Minmetals adheres to the aspiration of contributing to human progress through developing the mining industry. After 75 years of development, it has formed development advantages of a complete industrial chain integrating resource exploration, design and construction, development and operation, smelting and processing, trade and logistics, scientific and technological R&D, and financial capital. Shanxi boasts a strong development momentum, sound policy support, a superior business environment and a solid industrial foundation, all of which align closely with China Minmetals' core businesses and the strategic focus of the 15th Five-Year Plan. He expressed hope that both parties would effectively leverage their respective advantages, work together to tackle shared challenges, vigorously promote project implementation, actively foster mutual benefits and win-win outcomes, build a high-quality, sustainable and distinctive model of local-enterprise cooperation, and contribute to better serving national strategies and promoting high-quality development of both sides.
