China Minmetals Corporation 2011-09-21
From September 19 to September 20, Zhou Zhongshu, Secretary of Party leadership and President of China Minmetals Corporation, Xu Siwei, Member of Party Leadership and Senior Vice-president of Minmetals, Li Lianhua, Member of Party Leadership and General Manager of Minmetals Luzhong Mining led a delegation to Shandong for a visit. During the visit, President Zhou met with Jiang Yikang, Party Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and leadership of Luzhong Mining, and attended the inauguration ceremony of Minmetals Heavy Machinery (Laiwu) Co., Ltd. together with Wang Suilian, Vice-governor of Shandong Province.
On his official visit to Secretary Jiang, President Zhou briefed on the business performance of Minmetals from January to August, its business development in Shandong and Minmetals machinery projects, and expressed his thanks to Laiwu Municipal Party Committee and Laiwu Municipal Government for their long-term support to Minmetals. According to him, Minmetals regarded Shandong as an important partner of strategic importance, and would spare no effort to implement the existing projects, so as to make new contributions to the economic and social development in Shandong Province.
Secretary Jiang extended his welcome to President Zhou and his delegation. He said that in recent years, China Minmetals Corporation had made outstanding achievements in industrial distribution and restructuring, maintained sound momentum of corporate development, and attached great importance to strategic cooperation with Laiwu City, providing Laiwu with good opportunities for development. He expressed his wish for Laiwu to make more considerable achievements by taking advantage of the great financial strength and advanced management concepts. According to him, Shandong Province is pushing forward cooperation with central enterprises in an all-round way. Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government are more than happy to create a good development environment and provide good service to central enterprises including Minmetals. Finally, he expressed his wishes for a good start and a great success of Minmetals heavy machinery projects. He also wished Minmetals business property and rapid progress. Yu Jiancheng, Secretary of the Laiwu Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Ma Pingchang were also present at the meeting.
On the inauguration ceremony, General Manager Li Lianhua, Chief Engineer Zhu Xiying, Secretary Yu Jiancheng, Vice-governor Wang Suilian, and President Zhou Zhongshu addressed the ceremony, which was presided over by Senior Vice-president Xu Siwei. Minmetals heavy machinery is an early-stage project developed under strategic transformation to integrate existing mining machinery businesses of Minmetals and develop and expand the mining machinery industry. The establishment of this project in Laiwu marks the practical implementation of the framework agreement for strategic cooperation between Minmetals and Laiwu Government. It also marks a new phase of development in the partnership between Minmetals and Shandong Province.
