On July 8, Chairman He Wenbo met in Beijing a visiting delegation headed by Chen Derong, General Manager of Baosteel Group Corporation. Yao Ziping, Deputy General Manager of Minmetals, and Zhou Zhuping, Deputy General Manager of Baosteel, were also present at the meeting. They had an in-depth exchange of views on how to adapt to the new situation of “Internet + Steel”, saying they would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation.   

At the beginning of the meeting, the two sides first watched a short video briefing on the development of Minmetals. Then, Chairman He Wenbo extended his warm welcome to General Manager Chen Derong, briefed him on the current reform and development of Minmetals and the business situation of various sectors, and recalled the traditional friendship and cooperation between Minmetals and Baosteel. He also expressed his desire to draw on experience in business management, staff training and E-business development from Baosteel, giving full play to their respective advantages to further strengthen business collaboration, particularly in strengthening e-commerce cooperation and promoting mutual development, so as to adopt to the new requirements and new challenges posed by the market on enterprises under the new situation of “Internet + Steel” and to strive for business transformation and upgrading. While speaking highly of the business diversification and international development of Minmetals, General Manager Chen Derong introduced the current operating situation of Baosteel, and described the vision, philosophy, architecture and development of Ouyeel, an e-commerce platform currently being built by Baosteel. According to General Manager Chen, as the two sides share something in common in E-commerce, especially in business philosophy and business development, they can further explore the potential for development and work together to create a good ecosystem for E-commerce. 

At the meeting, Yao Ziping, Deputy General Manager of Minmetals, and Yu Engang, Deputy General Manager of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., successively introduced the development process of Minmetals E-commerce and the business development of “Xinyilian”, an E-commerce platform of Minmetals. The two sides also explored potential fields of cooperation, and exchanged ideas and experience in the building of E-commerce platforms.
