On August 6, Chairman He Wenbo led a delegation to Benxi to meet Zhang Xiaofang, Chairwoman of Benxi Steel Group Corporation (BXSTEEL) and Wang Shu, Vice Chairman and General Manager of BXSTEEL. The two sides exchanged views on the grim situation currently faced by the steel industry, and reached a consensus on further promoting relevant business cooperation.
Yao Ziping, Deputy General Manager of Minmetals, and Zhang Peng, Deputy General Manager of BXSTEEL, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the history of cooperation, and introduced the recent operation, key work and future development planning. He Wenbo expressed his gratitude to BXSTEEL for its business support. He highly appreciated the fast, high-quality growth of BXSTEEL despite the current complex and competitive environment, praising it as a respected enterprise. He believed that in spite of the huge pressure on the operation of the steel industry, the two sides will carry out more efficient cooperation and work together to cope with difficulties in the industry and promote mutual business development with in-depth mutual understanding and communication. With leading international development and an integrated, open business network and platform, Minmetals is capable of providing online and offline services. Minmetals attaches great importance to the partnership with BXSTEEL, and is willing to deeply understand the need of BXSTEEL, actively improve its own work, and better provide BXSTEEL with services. He hoped the two sides will further expand their cooperation and improve their cooperation for mutual benefits and common development on the basis of good cooperation.
Zhang Xiaofang extended her welcome to He Wenbo and his delegation. She pointed out that given the good partnership between the two sides, the two sides should further enhance cooperation and work together to tide over the current difficulties and challenges facing the entire steel industry. She said that Minmetals is a reliable partner of BXSTEEL, and hoped that the two sides would establish an interface mechanism, make detailed work arrangements, and deeply study and promote all-round, three-dimensional cooperation. Wang Shu said that currently great changes in the external economic environment and market environment, especially E-commerce, have put forward new requirements for business development. With strong capacities of online and offline steel marketing, Minmetals will deliver value for the integration and expansion of regional markets of BXSTEEL. He suggested that the two sides deepen their exchanges, integrate online and offline resources, increase their trade flows, and work together to enhance the operating efficiency of the industrial chain.
At the meeting, Yao Ziping and Chen Shaorong, Han Gang, Yu Engang, Wang Zhenzhong and other personnel of the Raw Material and Steel Business Center introduced the advantages of Minmetals in steel circulation, and put forward visions and specific recommendations for enhanced cooperation in trade business, processing and distribution, and e-commerce; Zhang Peng and personnel of BXSTEEL including Shao Jianchao and Wu Shaogang studied the feasibility of the above cooperation, and put forward many constructive comments and suggestion.
Executives of relevant functional departments and business centers of Minmetals, including Zhang Ye, Xu Zhongfen, Chen Shaorong, Han Gang, Yu Engang, Huang Kun, Wei Tao, He Zongchun, Wang Zhaohu, and Wang Zhenzhong; and personnel of the relevant units of BXSTEEL, including Shao Jianchao, Shen Qiang, Wu Shaogang, Wu Huazhang, Liu Yansong, Tan Hong, Song Shu, Shi Yuhai, and Gao Haifeng, were also present at the meeting.
