
On September 14, Chairman He Wenbo, accompanied by Deputy General Manager Yao Ziping, met in Beijing a delegation led by Shunichi Matsui, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Corporation and President of Mitsubishi Corporation East Asia.
He Wenbo welcomed Shunichi Matsui and introduced Minmetals’ domestic and global business and plans for future expansion. He appreciated Mitsubishi’s expertise in its investment and operation in the mineral and metals industry. Sunichi Matsui introduced Mitsubishi’s operations and expressed a desire for closer business cooperation.
Their talks covered a wide array of issues including the macroeconomic situation, latest developments in the mineral and metals industry, China’s SOE reform, E- business of bulk commodities, and cooperation opportunities in mineral resources, trade, and personnel training. During the meeting, contact persons were designated for communication on international network management experience.

The meeting was attended by Mitsubishi directors including Kosaku Kawai, Deputy Regional CEO, Mitsubishi East Asia; and leaders of Minmetals’ headquarters (Zhang Ye, Director of the General Office & Party Group Office & Board Office, and Xu Zhongfen, Director of the Strategy & Planning Division), and persons-in-charge of Minmetals Development (Liu Qingchun, General Manager of Minmetals Development, as well as Wang Zhaohu and Wang Zhenzhong).
