On October 22, Chairman He Wenbo met in Beijing a visiting delegation headed by Zheng Zhijie, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee, Vice Chairman and President of China Development Bank (CDB). CFO Shen Ling attended the meeting. The two sides had in-depth discussions on further strengthening strategic cooperation.

He Wenbo first extended his welcome to Zheng Zhijie and his delegation, and expressed his gratitude to CDB for its strong support to Minmetals over the years. He said that the significant change in the metal and mining market in recent years has presented both challenges and opportunities. He hoped the two sides will further deepen cooperation, so as to make new and greater contributions to China’s strategy of “going global” and its economic and social development.

Zheng Zhijie highly appreciated the operating situation of Minmetals and the construction of the Las Bambas Project. He said that in view of the long and good history of cooperation between Minmetals and CDB, especially the successful cooperation in the process of “going global”, CDB will provide continued support for Minmetals’s efforts in overseas resource development in the future.

Shen Ling briefed on the financial position of Minmetals; Jiao Jian, Assistant General Manager of China Minmetals Corporation and General Manager of China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co. Ltd., introduced the latest development of the Las Bambas Project in Peru; Yu Bo, General Manager of the Financial Division, reported the operational data of Minmetals since this year; Xue Fei, General Manager of the Investment Banking Department, analyzed the situation of the global metal and mining industry.

The two sides also exchanged views on topics of common interest, including the trends of the metal and mining industry and the development strategy of Minmetals.
