On December 22, Party Secretary and Chairman He Wenbo met a visiting delegation headed by Mao Tengfei, Vice Secretary of the Municipal Committee and Mayor of Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. The two sides exchanged views on how to promote the transformation and upgrading of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Group Co., Ltd. and Zhuzhou Smelter Group Company Limited. Li Fuli, Party Member and Deputy General Manager of Minmetals; and He Jianbo, Vice Mayor of Zhuzhou City, were present at the meeting.

He Wenbo extended his welcome to Mao Tengfei and his gratitude to Zhuzhou City for its great support. He Wenbo pointed out that Minmetals is committed to guaranteeing resource security, promoting innovations in industrial upgrading, and driving circulation transformation in China’s metal and mining industry. To this end, Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Group Co., Ltd. should accelerate the promotion of the development models of the entire industry chain through innovation-driven development, so as to become one of the world’s top three enterprises in the cemented carbide industry; Zhuzhou Smelter Group Company Limited should spare no efforts to promote industrial restructuring and upgrading, actively fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and strive for green, sustainable development. He said that with a good industrial base in Zhuzhou City and the entrepreneurship of Minmetals, close cooperation between the two sides for greater development should be sought.

Mao Tengfei introduced the advantages of Zhuzhou City as an old industrial base, the planning of the city for the “13th Five-year Plan” period, and the progress of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Group Co., Ltd. and Zhuzhou Smelter Group Company Limited in transformation and upgrading, and expressed his gratitude to Minmetals for its support for economic and social development of the city. He said that as Zhuzhou City attaches great importance to cooperation with Minmetals, further efforts from Minmetals in promoting projects are expected. And Zhuzhou City will fully support the development of Minmetals enterprises in Zhuzhou City.
