On May 19, Chairman and Party Secretary He Wenbo met Chairman Huang Changgeng and President Wu Gaochao of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xiamen Tungsten). The two sides conducted in-depth communication about the industrial development, development prospects, and reform and innovation of the tungsten industry, and reached consensus on further cooperation. Minmetals Party member and Deputy General Manager Li Fuli attended the meeting.

He Wenbo spoke highly of the operation concept and innovative development of Xiamen Tungsten, introduced the operation situation, development strategy and mission of China Minmetals, and elaborated on the reform and development concept of Minmetals in the aspect of the tungsten business. He said, in the area of the application of the rare metals, there is a large room for the two parties to learn from each other and seek synergy. Li Fuli said that China Minmetals and Xiamen Tungsten had established a long-term partnership. The two parties could jointly lead the industrial development through deepening cooperation.

Huang Changgeng extended welcome to the delegation headed by He Wenbo, and praised the huge achievements made by China Minmetals in the recent years. He introduced the development history, strategic positioning and reform and development concept under the new situation of Xiamen Tungsten, and expounded on the measures and plans in technological innovation, structural adjustment, mechanism reform and cultivation of industrial ecology. Wu Gaochao said that, the cemented carbide industry would experience the co-existence of a few large-scale manufacturers of standard products and numerous small-scale manufacturers of non-standard products for a long term to come. It is hoped that the two sides could further deepen exchange and cooperation, standardize the market order, make solid accumulation and keen innovation in consistency with leading foreign enterprises, and realize breakthroughs in the cemented carbide industry in future.

The delegation headed by He Wenbo also investigated the bar material processing and production workshop, precision cutting tool manufacturing workshop and powder plant of Xiamen Golden Egret Special Alloy Co., Ltd. subordinate to Xiamen Tungsten, the production lines of tungsten filament and tungsten products of Xiamen Honglu Tungsten and Molybdenum Industry Co., Ltd., as well as Xiamen Tungsten Technology Research Center. The Director of the Research Center Yu Yang introduced the construction of technological innovation system of Xiamen Tungsten, and the responsible people of the two sides conducted extensive exchange on specific businessissues .

Relevant leaders of Xiamen Tungsten Zhuang Zhigang, Xu Huoyao, Hong Chao’e, Yang Jinhong and Zhong Kexiang; and leaders of Functional departments and Business Sectors of China Minmetals Xiong Xiaobing, Li Zhongze, Yang Bohua and Gao Bo were also present at the meeting.
