On July 1, China Minmetals Corporation held in Beijing a conference to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and commend advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers. At the conference, it warmly celebrated the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and solemnly commended the advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers of Minmetals, and further promoted staff learning and education (to study the CPC Constitution, to study and implement important speeches, and to be a qualified party member). This was a grand event for over 4,800 grass-roots party organizations throughout Minmetals and over 98,000 party members after its strategic restructuring of MCC. Chairman and Party Secretary He Wenbo made an important speech, Guo Wenqing, General Manager and Party Committee Secretary of Minmetals, announced the commending decision, and other leadership members attended the conference. Deputy General Manager and Party Group Member Li Lianhua presided over the conference.

The conference began with a presentation by Guo Wenqing, who introduced the advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers of Minmetals commended by the SASAC. The party committee of Hunan Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd., the party branch of No. 2 Work Area of Xiaoguanzhuang Iron Mine of Minmetals Luzhong Mining Co., Ltd., the party committee of Shanghai Baoye Group Corp. Ltd., and the party branch of the Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel-making Project Department of China MCC17 Group Co., Ltd. were named “advanced grass-roots party organizations of central enterprises”; Luo Peng, Wang Hongli, Xiang Mingwu, and Ren Xianzhang were named “outstanding party members of central enterprises”; and Zhong Yong, Qu Haiyan and Huang Ke were named “outstanding party workers of central enterprises”. Guo Wenqing announced the decision of Minmetals Party Group on commending advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers of Minmetals. 83 grass-roots party organizations including the party branch of Minmetals Corporate Planning and Development Department, were named “advanced grass-roots party organizations of Minmetals”; 176 persons including Cui Nannan were named “outstanding party members of Minmetals”; and 75 persons including Zhang Zhen were named “outstanding party workers of Minmetals”.

At the conference, Minmetals leaders presented medals and certificates to the representatives of advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers of Minmetals. 9 representatives of advanced grass-roots party organizations including the party branch of Minmetals Corporate Planning and Development Department, 10 representatives of outstanding party members including Zhao Li, and 10 outstanding party workers including Dai Zhiwei, received the award. Wang Shilei, Party Committee Secretary of Shanghai Baoye Group Corp. Ltd., Zhang Duo, Senior Manager of No. 6 Division of Minmetals International Trust Co., Ltd., and Zeng Hui, Deputy Director of the Division of Party and Masses’ Affairs of Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd. delivered speeches on behalf of the advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers commended.

He Wenbo made an important speech on behalf of the party group of Minmetals. On behalf of the party group of Minmetals, he expressed his highest respect and best wishes for the great Chinese Communist Party, his sincere congratulations to the collectives and individuals commended, and his warmest greetings to the party organizations at all levels, party members and party workers who have made important contributions to the reform and development of Minmetals on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. He Wenbo pointed out that in the course of its 95 years of development, the great CPC has made brilliant achievements. All party members should, through reviewing the glorious history of the party, relentlessly study its innovative theoretical achievements and keep enhancing their ideals and beliefs, so as to further make brilliant achievements which will go down in history. He called upon party organizations at all levels and all party members to fully and accurately grasp the instructions of the central government, the SASAC Party Committee and Minmetals Party Group upon staff learning and education (to study the CPC Constitution, study and implement important speeches, and become a qualified party member), develop a profound understanding of the importance and urgency of such learning and education, steadily promote learning and education, strengthen organizational leadership, and ensure high effectiveness. He Wenbo encouraged party organizations at all levels and party members to model themselves on the advanced grass-roots party organizations, outstanding party members and outstanding party workers commended to promote integration so as to become advanced members by learning from them and to strive for a new situation in all work; they should do so in an effort to deepen the reform, enhance quality and efficiency, promote business development, fulfill the three major missions, strengthen party building, and provide a strong political guarantee for Minmetals . He called on all party members and cadres and workers of Minmetals to take the opportunity of integration of Minmetals to effectively fulfill the three major missions of “protecting national resource security, striving for innovations in industrial upgrading, and driving circulation transformation”, make joint efforts in the development of Minmetals, and work hard to build a world-class mining and metal enterprise group!

Over 160 people, including Minmetals chief economist, trade union president, full-time assistant to the general manager, leadership members of functional departments, party committee secretaries and deputy secretaries of units outside Beijing and directly under Minmetals, persons in charge of party and mass affairs and all members of units in Beijing and directly under Minmetals, persons in charge of party and mass affairs of units outside Beijing and directly under Minmetals, some winners, and party representatives of functional departments and units in Beijing and directly under Minmetals, attended the conference in the main hall. Over 150 people, including members of party and government leadership team members of units outside Beijing and directly under Minmetals, persons of party building departments of units outside Beijing and directly under Minmetals, leaders of grass-roots party organizations and party representatives of units outside Beijing and directly under Minmetals, attended the conference in the video conference hall.
