On July 5, Chairman and Party Secretary He Wenbo met in Beijing a delegation headed by Liu Mingzhong, Chairman and Party Committee Secretary of China First Heavy Industries (CFHI). Zhang Zhaoxiang, Deputy General Manager and Party Member of Minmetals, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation, and President and Deputy Party Secretary of MCC China; and Sun Min, Party Committee Member and Executive Vice President of CFHI; were present at the meeting.
He Wenbo extended his warm welcome to Liu Mingzhong, introduced the operating conditions and future direction of transformation, and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of CFHI in recent years. He said that both the new Minmetals after restructuring of MCC and CFHI are in the process of reform and transformation. The two enterprises should work together and timely communicate with each other for any market opportunities. It is believed that the two sides will face more opportunities for cooperation in the fields of metallurgical engineering with traditional advantages, business of transformation and innovation, and international production capacities. Liu Mingzhong expressed his gratitude to Minmetals and MCC for their great support to CFHI over the years, introduced the business structure of CFHI, and expressed his wishes for closer business relations, power combination and cooperation in a much wider range of areas with Minmetals.
The two sides exchanged their views on topics such as the current situation of the metallurgy and metal mining sectors, reform of central enterprises, and open cooperation between central enterprises. They also explored opportunities for cooperation in the fields of overseas engineering, metallurgy, and urban pipe gallery projects.
Established in 1954, CFHI is one of the key enterprises managed by the central government that has a vital bearing on national security and economic lifelines.
Relevant persons in charge of CFHI including Zu Yuming, Wang Wu, Song Yongfeng, and Zhang Fulu; Zhang Ye, Director of General Office & Party Group Office & Board Office of Minmetals; MCC Chief Engineer Han Guorui and MCC Tendering & Procurement Management Center Director Chang Wei, were also present at the meeting.
