On August 31, Director, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Organization of China Minmetals Corporation and Chairman and Party Committee Secretary of MCC Guo Wenqing met Mayor Dai Wei of Huludao City from Liaoning Province in MCC Headquarters in Beijing. The sides had talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and had in-depth exchanges of views on strengthening all-round cooperation in such fields as municipal infrastructure, underground comprehensive pipe gallery, metallurgical base, port terminals and finance.

Guo Wenqing extended his warm welcome to Mayor Dai Wei and his delegation and expressed his sincere gratitude to the municipal Party committee and municipal government of Huludao City for their active efforts in the transformation of MCC Huludao Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd. He pointed out that the successful transformation of MCC Huludao Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd was done with the efforts from various parties such as MCC, Liaoning Province and the municipal government of Huludao City. By fully implementing the requirements of the central leadership, it has successfully realized the transformation of diversified ownership, protected the interests of the listed company and investors and become a model and example for transformation of state-owned enterprise.

Guo Wenqing pointed out that, at present, China Minmetals Corporation and MCC have successfully completed the strategic restructuring and are devoted to creating a world-class metal and mining enterprise group. The new China Minmetals Corporation has strong resource control capabilities and capital strength, has full financial licenses such as banks, securities, funds and trust and has entered the world first echelon in the metal and mining field like copper, lead and zinc. MCC is devoted to being the “national team in metallurgical construction, main force in capital construction and pacemaker in emerging industry” and has successfully transformed its business to fields like high-end housing construction, municipal transportation infrastructure, large-scale stadiums and environmental engineering. It has established 6 technical research institutes including comprehensive pipe gallery, smart city and beautiful village, sponge city, theme park, water environmental technology and health and pension industry, and has successfully accomplished several large-scale emerging industry projects, gaining rich experience. Huludao City has a solid industrial foundation and a history of nearly 100 years in nonferrous metallurgy in particular, giving the city exceptional advantages. He hopes that Huludao City can seize the opportunity, actively undertake the industrial transfer of nonferrous metallurgy from the Yangtze River Basin and Southeastern coastal area and devote itself to creating China’s largest metallurgical base. The new China Minmetals Corporation is willing to cooperate with Huludao City in nonferrous metallurgical projects like cooper, lead and zinc, and MCC will also actively participate in the construction of comprehensive underground pipe gallery, sponge city, beautiful village, highway transportation, portal terminals, sewage treatment and waste incineration. We are bound to make full use of our advantages to complete these projects with high quality and make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Huludao City.
