On the approach of the Chinese New Year, the leaders of China Minmetals, namely, Chairman and Party Secretary Tang Fuping, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary and MCC Chairman Guo Wenqing, Director and Deputy Party Secretary Dong Mingjun, Vice President and Chief Account and Party Group Member Liu Caiming, Vice President and Party Group Member Zhang Zhaoxiang, and Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team and Party Group Member Lu Weidong, visited the retired cadres and experts respectively to extend the gratitude for their long-term contributions to the company's development , and the sincere greetings for Spring Festival on behalf of the party group and leadership of China Minmetals.

On January 14, Tang Fuping paid a visit to Zhou Keren, former President of China Minmetals. Tang inquired about Zhou's physical status and living conditions, and introduced in detail the gratifying achievements of China Minmetals in 2019. He said that China Minmetals, in spite of the complex situation faced, has steadily improved its overall competitiveness with the operating income exceeding RMB 600 billion and the assessment tasks of the SASAC successfully completed, playing an important pillar role of central enterprises in maintaining the stable growth, advancing the reform, and adjusting the structure. Tang also said that China Minmetals has always adhered to the political standing and the road of high-quality development, insisted on highlighting its main business, and persisted in market-oriented reforms. The operation and development of company has become increasingly mature and stable, which is the result of the persistent and joint efforts by generations of Minmetals people. Looking ahead to 2020, all Minmetals people will work together for the goal of "quadrupling in three steps" with greater responsibility and for the construction of a "world-class" metal mining group. It is hoped that Mr. Zhou will consistently support us and provide suggestions for the company’s development despite retiring. Zhou expressed his sincere gratitude for the concern of China Minmetals 'party group and highly appreciated China Minmetals' leadership team for grasping the complex and severe internal and external situations, continuously strengthening party leadership, persisting in deepening reform, improving development quality, and achieving excellent operating performance. On January 8, Guo Wenqing visited Jing Tianliang, former Chairman of MCC. Guo introduced in detail the development since the reorganization of China Minmetals and MCC. With the joint efforts of all cadres and employees in 2019, China Minmetals has closely adhered to the goal of "quadrupling in three steps", further promoted high-quality development, and hit the best record with our operating income exceeding RMB 600 billion since strategic reorganization. Under the strict control of risks and with the development potential guaranteed, MCC has maintained a good trend of substantial increase with operating performance and asset quality reaching a record high and hitting the best level in history. Guo emphasized that we are highly concerned about the living conditions of retired leaders to whom warm greetings and blessings are sent when the Chinese New Year is approaching for the important contributions they have made in the past decades. Guo sincerely wished them good health and happiness in the coming year, and hoped they will continue to support the company and provide suggestions for the development of MCC. Jing Tianliang expressed his sincere gratitude to the leaders of China Minmetals for their visit on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. He was glad that the two Fortune 500 companies had achieved steady results after reorganization. On January 16, Guo Wenqing paid a visit to Zhou Zhongshu, former Party Secretary of China Minmetals. Guo inquired solicitously about Zhou’s physical condition and his life status after retirement, and introduced China Minmetals' achievements in 2019 that China Minmetals, with the cordial care of retired leaders and the joint efforts of all employees, has been improved in business performance with operating income exceeding RMB 600 billion, and profit hitting historical best levels, which has overfulfilled the annual budget targets and assessment tasks of the SASAC. We do hope all the retired leaders will be concerned with the company’s development and making suggestions for the various undertakings while enjoying their retiring days. Guo emphasized that China Minmetals has attached great importance to the work of retired cadres with care of their health and living conditions. The retiree-relevant department of the party group is required to guarantee the service of retirees, to serve the retired comrades carefully and thoughtfully, aiming to reassure the party group and satisfy the retired comrades. Zhou expressed his gratitude to the leaders for their visits and condolences during the busy schedule as well as his great happiness for the development of the company in 2019. He hoped that China Minmetals will keep up with national policies and go well in reforming for an innovative enterprise for becoming a world-class metal mining group at an early date.

On January 15, Dong Mingjun paid visits to retired leaders including Wang Yan, Liu Zhongliang, Chen Wendong, and Wang Qingtang. Dong asked with concern about their physical and living conditions, and introduced China Minmetals' operating results in 2019 as well as the social management of retirees. He said that under the leadership of the Party Group and the guidance of the retired leaders, China Minmetals' operating income in 2019 exceeded RMB 600 billion with production and operation indicators reaching the best level in history. Dong said that China Minmetals has always emphasized to respect the retired comrades with kindness, to learn from them with an open mind, and to serve them with care and love. Dong also briefly introduced the necessity and superiority of the retirees’ social management. He pointed out that China Minmetals will care about the retirees in consistence and implement the party building, joint activities, visits and condolences, etc., to tie the relationship between business and retirees closely after the social management. We sincerely wish the retired comrades a happy life in the future as well as continuous concern and support for us. The retired leaders expressed their sincere gratitude for the care of the party group and highly praised the company’s outstanding achievements in the current complicated international and domestic situation. They unanimously stated that thanking to the party and the state have put forward new requirements for ensuring the improvement of people's livelihood and innovative social governance in the new era, the political and living benefits of retired cadres have been continuously improved with the sense of happiness and satisfaction increasing. After the condolences ended, Dong visited the Guanchengyuan activity station, fully affirmed the performance of the station, and put forward requirements for the retirees’ party branch to play the role of battle fortress.

On January 16, Liu Caiming, on behalf of China Minmetals’ Party Group, visited Yu Runcang, a senior consultant and expert of China ENFI and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and also National Advanced Retired Cadre Individual 2019, and Jiang Jimu, 81-year-old national prospecting master, to send the best regards and wishes for the coming festival. Liu asked in detail about their work, life and physical conditions, and briefly introduced China Minmetals' outstanding achievements in 2019. He pointed that China Minmetals has focused on the scientific and technological innovation to build a good and broad sci-tech research and development platform for the scientists and technologists. The company has set up a “Science and Technology Innovation Fund” for the frontiers of scientific research to form a front-end, application technology innovation fund system fully covering the whole industry with the existing “Industrial Fund”and “Double Innovation Fund” to guarantee the technological breakthrough of the subsidiaries for the national strategy and industrial demands. Liu also stated that China Minmetals has attached great importance to the living conditions of retired cadres. The older scientific and technological experts represented by Yu Runcang and Jiang Jimu are important wealth for technological progress of the company and the industry. It is hoped that they will continue to support the development of the company and give full play of their leading role to provide guidance for the younger professional and technical personnel. Yu and Jiang extended their gratitude to the party group as well as their appreciation for the outstanding achievements and perfect service system of the company. On January 15, Zhang Zhaoxiang paid a visit to Ma Yanli, former Vice Chairman and President of MCC. Zhang asked about Ma's physical status and living conditions, introduced the brilliant achievements of MCC in 2019, and looked ahead to the future development of MCC. Zhang said that the MCC Party Committee has been concerned with the life of retired cadres in their later years with the care for the retired leaders who have made important contributions through visits and condolences. It is hoped that the retired leaders will support the development of MCC consistently and exert their strength to provide suggestions for the progress of MCC. Ma expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders of China Minmetals for their visits during the busy schedule, and he was very glad to see the impressive achievements of the company in deepening reform and innovation. On January 20, Lu Weidong, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team and Party Group Member, paid a visit to Hai Yan and Li Xinli, former leaders retired from the discipline inspection front. Lu asked about their physical and living conditions, introduced the achievements of China Minmetals in 2019 as well as the overall situation of disciplinary inspection and supervision and he, on behalf of the party group of China Minmetals, extended gratitude to the retired leaders for their long-term contributions to the disciplinary inspection and supervision. Lu pointed out that in the past 2019, China Minmetals Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team faithfully performed its duties of assisting and supervising to implement the work of correcting work style and anti-corruption comprehensively and effectively, which has achieved greatly in the high-quality development of discipline inspection and supervision. China Minmetals Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team will firmly take "supervision" as its basic and primary responsibility in 2020 to provide strong guarantee for the company’s strategic goal of "quadrupling in three steps".
