On September 9, Mr. Guo Wenqing, China Minmetals' President and Deputy Party Group Secretary and MCC Chairman, led a delegation to Hunan Province, and met with Du Jiahao in Changsha, Secretary of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial People's Congress. Both sides exchanged views on further advancing cooperation between enterprises and local governments as well as promoting high-quality development of enterprises.

Guo Wenqing expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception of Du Jiahao and the support of the People's Government of Hunan Province for China Minmetals' enterprises in Hunan Province. He also briefed on the current information of China Minmetals and the development situation of China Minmetals' enterprises in Hunan Province. Guo pointed out that China Minmetals is committed to building itself into a world-class metal ore corporate. China Minmetals has an asset totaling RMB 2.16 trillion and its revenue in 2019 exceeded RMB 600 billion, ranking the 92nd place among the Fortune Global 500. In recent years, China Minmetals' competitiveness has been increasing. China Minmetals attaches great importance to the strategic cooperation with Hunan Province, which is home to the largest strategic presence, the biggest assets, the most complete industrial coverage and industry chain of China Minmetals, with the total assets worth of RMB 204.5 billion. With the strong support of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and the People's Government of Hunan Province, Zhuzhou Smelter Group Co.,Ltd. achieved successful transformation, and the industry demonstration base of copper, lead and zinc began to take shape, delivering sound economic and social benefits. The anode material of Hunan Changyuan Lico Co., Ltd. (Hunan Lico) is leading the industry in the world, and the National New Energy Materials Industry Base is functioning well at full capacity, and 40 thousand tons anode material project is expected to start soon. The construction of China Minmetals Building, to be the headquarters of the industry, is under way. The smooth progress of all these projects demonstrates how deep and broad the cooperation between China Minmetals and Hunan Province is.

Guo Wenqing stressed that China Minmetals always bears in mind the important speech and guiding principles made by General Secretary Xi Jinping about the reform and development of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). And under the new development landscape dominated by the major circulation in China and supported by both domestic and international circulations, we focus on the business system featured by "four beams and eight columns" and constantly consolidate the foundation of development. Meanwhile, China Minmetals is committed to concentrating on its own strength to strengthen the efforts for exploring ore in more areas, and plays an active role in restructuring domestic resource landscape to improve its capacity in accessing domestic resources. Beyond that, China Minmetals works to tap the potential of the existing resources and strive to extend the industry chain of rare earth, antimony and hard alloy to build the competitive edge the whole industry chain. Moreover, China Minmetals works to build itself into a world-class mining corporate and improve the professional level of metal mining. In addition, we accelerate the integration of resources and increase investment in transportation and municipal infrastructure in Hunan Province. What's more, China Minmetals has developed multiple poverty alleviation industry demonstration bases by putting a lot of resources for partner assistance, further playing the leading role in poverty alleviation. Guo Wenqing said that China Minmetals is ready to further advance cooperation with Hunan Province, accelerate the implementation of current projects and intensify the efforts for expanding business to boost high-quality economic and social development of Hunan Province. Du Jiahao extended warm welcome to Guo Wenqing's visit and expressed sincere thanks to China Minmetals for helping Hunan Province win the battle against poverty, and recalled the history of cooperation between China Minmetals and local governments of Hunan Province. Du Jiahao said that since the strategic restructuring of China Minmetals and MCC, the strength and influence of China Minmetals has been increasing. In particular, China Minmetals's enterprises in Hunan Province have turned a new leaf and gained rebirth, I would like to express my sincere congratulations. There is a long history of cooperation between Hunan Province and China Minmetals and many gratifying fruits have been yielded. From the reform, restructuring, transformation and relocation of China Minmetals' enterprises in Hunan Province to environmental management as well as research and development of new materials, both sides have maintained a sound momentum of cooperation. Hunan Province, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has made progress in COVID-19 containment, resumption of work and production, flood control and drought relief. For the years to come, Hunan Province will continue to provide better government services and create a better business environment for China Minmetals' enterprises in Hunan Province.
