On the afternoon of March 24, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Wu Weidong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Tangshan Municipal Committee, and his delegation. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on further strengthening the cooperation.

Weng Zuliang expressed his welcome to the visit of Wu Weidong and his delegation, and introduced business development achievements of China Minmetals in recent years. He said that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and thoroughly applied the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress to accelerate the building of a world first-class metals and minerals enterprise with global competitiveness. In 2022, the operating revenue of China Minmetals exceeded RMB 900 billion, its total and net profits increased significantly year-on-year, and its operating performance hit a new record high, indicating that it maintained a good momentum in high-quality development. In 2023, China Minmetals will continue firmly upholding and practicing its missions of “serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry”, and further make its key responsibility and major business even stronger, better, and larger. It will also improve the enterprise core competitiveness and core functions to contribute to setting the stage for building China into a modern socialist country in all respects.

Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude to Tangshan City for its long-standing support to the development of China Minmetals. He pointed out that the cooperation between China Minmetals and Tangshan City had a long history and a solid foundation. The two sides have achieved significant success in the fields of engineering construction, trade & logistics, and new energy materials. China Minmetals has attached high priority to the strategic cooperation with Tangshan City. Weng hoped that both sides could further increase communication and synergy in implementing state important strategies and enhance complementarity of actions to achieve further successful cooperation with every effort and realize higher-level mutual benefits with higher quality.

Wu Weidong expressed his thanks to Weng Zuliang for his warm reception and the contribution made by China Minmetals to the social and economic development of Tangshan for a long time. He said that at present, Tangshan was making coordinated advances in all fields of economic and social development following the three development objectives and three objectives to make Tangshan a leading city put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping. This has provided more opportunities for both sides to deepen cooperation. He hoped that both sides can further strengthen the exchanges, extend the cooperation in more areas, and innovate the way for cooperation to continue to promote win-win development between the government and central state-owned enterprises.

Both sides also had an exchange of views on a wide range of issues of mutual concern.

Zhu Kebing and Chen Jianguang, Party Group Members and Senior Vice Presidents of China Minmetals, Qiao Chaoying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tangshan Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Tangshan, and Hou Xu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tangshan Municipal Committee and Secretary of the CPC Caofeidian District Committee, attended the meeting.
