On the afternoon of April 19, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited China Minmetals Beryllium Co., Ltd. of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Holding Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Minmetals, in the form of Field Investigation without Notice and Report to inspect and supervise the rectification and transformation work based on the feedback of the central inspections of environmental protection.

Weng Zuliang carefully inspected the slag storage and the environmentally-sound high-temperature self-built kiln, understood in detail the technical measures of the sound disposal and recycling of waste containing beryllium, the disposal progress, and the storage volume of waste containing beryllium. and then, he listened to the report on the production and operation of the enterprise.

Weng Zuliang stressed that the company should study and practice Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, attach great importance to safety and environmental protection, and completely resolve the overdue storage of waste containing beryllium in strict accordance with the rectification requirements of the central inspections of environmental protection. He also emphasized that the company should have a long-term view and promote the acceptance check of the self-built kiln projects and eradicate the problems with regard to the disposal of waste containing beryllium so as to achieve high-quality green development of the enterprise.
