On July 27, Guo Wenqing, President of China Minmetals met Taichi Takahashi, Head of Investment Bank for Asia Pacific of UBS Group AG, and both sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation.
Guo Wenqing extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Taichi Takahashi. Guo said that China Minmetals was a Fortune 500 company with metals and minerals as its core business, and ranked 58th in the Fortune Global 500 list in 2022, and that it was committed to building a world-class powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry. He also pointed out that China Minmetals and UBS Group AG had achieved visible, remarkable results in their long-term friendly cooperation.
Guo Wenqing emphasized that instability and uncertainty continued to rise since the world economy was still in a period of deep adjustment, and the global supply chain of metals and minerals underwent significant transformations. Besides, he said that China Minmetals highly recognized the professional ability and experience of UBS Group AG in global cross-border mergers & acquisitions and financial services. Therefore, it was hoped that the two sides would strengthen communication and exchange, expand the space for cooperation, and innovate the mode of cooperation. It was also wished that they would focus on investment in and mergers & acquisitions of metal and mineral resources, strengthen the abilities of capturing opportunities and implementing projects, and promote the in-depth convergence of the mining industry and capital, so as to further expand the influence of China Minmetals in the global metal and mineral sector.
Taichi Takahashi thanked Guo Wenqing for his warm reception and China Minmetals for its longstanding trust and recognition of UBS. He said that UBS Group AG was a world-class investment bank, a leading wealth management company and a significant asset management organization. He also pointed out that UBS attached great importance to the business cooperation with China Minmetals, and hoped that both sides would further strengthen the communication, and deepen the multi-field cooperation. He also made clear that UBS would make full use of its experience in domestic and overseas capital market operation and rich global client resources to provide China Minmetals with the best support and better services for its long-term, stable and sustainable development.
