Weng Zuliang Meets with Lin Baojin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee

On October 17th, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Lin Baojin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. Both sides had in-depth discussions on further strengthening cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Weng Zuliang welcomed Lin Baojin and his delegation. He expressed his gratitude to the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and Fuzhou Government for their strong support to the development of China Minmetals in Fuzhou, and provided a brief overview of China Minmetals' development in recent years. He noted that China Minmetals has always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and firmly adhered to its original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". China Minmetals has also worked on improving its core competitiveness and enhancing its core functions, and advanced the building of a world-class powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry. From January to September this year, China Minmetals overcame many difficulties and challenges, and achieved an operating income of nearly 700 billion yuan, maintaining a positive momentum and solid step for high-quality development. China Minmetals attaches great importance to its strategic cooperation with Fuzhou, especially since the signing of the comprehensive deepening cooperation agreement on August 8th last year. Both sides have strengthened communication, and engaged in more comprehensive cooperation in more areas, and at deeper levels, which has achieved positive progress and significant results. Weng hoped that both sides, in accordance with the cooperation agreements reached, would further leverage their respective strengths, enhance coordination, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in enterprise development and local economic and social development, so as to jointly contributing to the implementation of national strategies.

Lin Baojin expressed his gratitude for the strong support that China Minmetals has provided to the economic and social development of Fuzhou. He also provided an overview of the relevant circumstances in Fuzhou. He stated that Fuzhou is an important birthplace and practice ground for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Currently, adhering to and promoting the important ideas and major practices initiated by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and the essence of the '3820' strategic project, the leaders and people of Fuzhou have accelerated the construction of a modern international city, and actively promoted all-round high-quality development. Lin hoped that both sides would continue to strengthen communication, enhance the complementarity of development strategies, and accelerate project cooperation in accordance with the comprehensive deepening cooperation agreement. He added that Fuzhou will continue to wholeheartedly support the development of China Minmetals' local subsidiaries and jointly create a new model of cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Both sides had an extensive discussion on issues of common concern.

Leaders of China Minmetals, including Zhu Kebing and Wang Shilei, and Ye Renyou, one of the leaders of Fuzhou city attended the meeting. Other participants include heads of relevant departments from Fuzhou city, as well as leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
