China Minmetals Signs a Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation with CRRC

On January 10, China Minmetals signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation with CRRC Corporation Limited ("CRRC" for short) in Beijing. After the signing ceremony, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, Guo Wenqing, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, Sun Yongcai, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of CRRC, and Wang An, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Executive Director of CRRC, also attended an important meeting.

Weng Zuliang stressed that China Minmetals, as a central state-owned enterprise (SOE) with metals and minerals as its core business, undertook the important responsibility of ensuring the supply and stable price of mineral resources, and was committed to becoming a main force to ensure the security of resources and a national team to upgrade the metallurgical industry. Weng said that China Minmetals and CRRC were both central SOEs that shouldered the common mission of optimizing the allocation of state-owned capital and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. He hoped that the two sides could take this signing ceremony as an opportunity, give full play to each other's strengths, constantly deepen communication and exchanges, and continue to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in fields such as financial leasing, deep-sea mining, hard alloy and engineering construction. He also expressed that the two sides could promote the integrated development of their industrial chains, jointly serve national strategies, and better play the role of central SOEs in scientific and technological innovation, industrial control and security support.

Sun Yongcai noted that CRRC, as the only industrial group in China's rail transit equipment industry, had always focused on building a modern industrial system. He also said that CRRC, which had formed a business structure featuring "one core business, three pillar sectors and multiple growth poles", was making every effort to create the rail transit equipment and clean energy equipment manufacturing system with global competitiveness. He stressed that CRRC would further strengthen communication with China Minmetals, and continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of industrial chain integration, deep-sea mining and clean energy, etc. He also expressed that CRRC would continue to give full play to the core functions of a central SOE, and share missions and responsibilities with China Minmetals to promote common development.

At the signing ceremony, Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Vice President of China Minmetals, and Li Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee and Chief Accountant of CRRC, signed the framework agreement on strategic cooperation on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, the two sides will establish a long-term strategic partnership based on the principles of "complementary advantages, resource sharing, mutual benefits and common development", carry out all-round, wide-ranging and in-depth cooperation, and promote each other to enhance the core competitiveness and strengthen core functions, so as to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development. At the event, both parties also signed a memorandum of understanding on the merger of China National Foreign Trade Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. and CRRC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.

The event was joined by relevant department heads and enterprise leaders of China Minmetals and CRRC.
