On December 7, China Minmetals held a special meeting to promote value creation actions for benchmarking against global first-class enterprises. At the meeting, it deeply studied and implemented the guiding principles of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on accelerating efforts to build global first-class enterprises, fully practised the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and fulfilled the requirements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) for "taking value creation actions for benchmarking against global first-class enterprises". Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, made a speech at the meeting. Tian Wei, Party Group Member and Chief Accountant, presided over the meeting. Chen Jianguang, Party Group Member and Vice President, attended the meeting.

Weng Zuliang noted that we should raise our political stance, deeply study and practise the guiding principles of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on accelerating efforts to build world-class enterprises, and implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. He also stressed that we should fully understand the strategic significance of accelerating efforts to build world-class enterprises, and focus on building a world-class enterprise with outstanding products and brands, leading innovation, and modern governance. He pointed out that value creation actions would further consolidate the foundation for high-quality development of China Minmetals, add more energy to its transformation and upgrading, highlight its role of strategic support for the state-owned economy and stress its contribution to national economic and social development.

As emphasized by Weng at the meeting, we should adhere to the goal-oriented principle, coordinate a series of major specific tasks to build world-class enterprises, and persist in benchmarking against world first-class enterprises, highlighting key points, following problem-orientated principle, implementing classified policies and advancing actions in a coordinated way. We should pursue high-quality development, and enhance the value creation capacity of our enterprise. We should focus on core indicators to consolidate the foundation of value creation, highlight innovation-driven development to create a new momentum for value creation, outline industrial upgrading to open up a new path for value creation, and pay attention to sustainable development to enhance the long-term value realization capability of our enterprise. Besides, we should keep on deepening reforms to provide institutional guarantee for building world-class enterprises. We should also strengthen overall planning and elaborate organization, make good use of the "progress indicators", make timely summaries and exchanges, and achieve practical results of value creation actions.

At the meeting, the Enterprise Management Division reported on the progress of China Minmetals' value creation actions. Representatives from Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corporation Limited, Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., China Tungsten and Hightech Materials Co., Ltd. ("China Tungsten") and China MCC22 Group Corporation Ltd., took turns to make statements.

This meeting has one main venue and 71 video meeting venues. More than 660 participants attended the meeting on site or via a video link, including China Minmetals' non-leadership executives, main department heads at head offices, main heads of directly-managed enterprises and key subsidiaries, members of the work team responsible for building world-class enterprises, and heads of relevant departments.
