On January 31, 2024, on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese New Year, Guo Wenqing, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, paid visits or made phone calls to extend his regards to retired leaders Zhou Zhongshu, Dong Mingjun, and Liu Zhongliang. He expressed his gratitude for their long-term contributions to the reform and development of China Minmetals and conveyed his blessings of Chinese New Year to them.

Guo Wenqing warmly inquired about the health status of Zhou Zhongshu, Dong Mingjun, and Liu Zhongliang, as well as their lives after retirement. He also provided updates on China Minmetals' business achievements in 2023 and outlined its work plans for the upcoming period. Guo Wenqing stated that in 2023, China Minmetals maintained robust development in production and operations. To be specific, in that year, China Minmetals saw a stronger supportive role of metals and minerals, steady growth in project construction, a larger scale of accelerated development of high-tech materials, improved efficiency in technological innovation, reinforced and optimized management and control, and risks and hazards addressed through targeted measures. Notably, the operational performance of China Minmetals reached a record high, successfully meeting the assessment objectives set by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and contributing to steady national economic growth. These achievements embody the wisdom and care of retired leaders, as well as the persistent and collective efforts of generations of employees of China Minmetals.

Guo Wenqing expressed his hope that these retired leaders would maintain ongoing interest in and support for China Minmetals' endeavors and provide valuable insights and suggestions for the development of the central SOE. He urged the Party Group Organization Division to diligently study and implement the essence of important discourses by General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding the arrangements for retired officials. This includes unifying thoughts, enhancing awareness, and firmly grasping the correct direction of work concerning retired officials in the new era. The Party Group Organization Division must provide genuine care and thoughtful services for those retired leaders to satisfy both the Party Group of China Minmetals and these retired leaders.
