Weng Zuliang Visits the Qingpu R&D Project Constructed by Shanghai Baoye for Work Safety Inspection and the Frontline Employees

On February 7, 2024, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited the Qingpu R&D project constructed by Shanghai Baoye Group Corp., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Baoye") for work safety inspection. He visited the site to inspect the project construction, with a focus on the progress of the interior decoration and basement construction. He listened to special reports on the project, gaining a detailed understanding of project safety and civilized construction, quality and personnel management. He also visited the frontline employees who stuck to their posts on behalf of the Party Group of China Minmetals and extended New Year greetings to them, while encouraging them to continue their efforts in the new year to contribute to the high-quality development of China Minmetals.

Weng Zuliang pointed out that the Qingpu R&D project should strictly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on work safety, fully follow the plans and arrangements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and China Minmetals, and actively practice the "Five Core Principles", to set a role model. Management personnel at all levels should carry out strict safety and quality management, and make reasonable arrangement of the construction period, to ensure that the project is delivered on schedule. Weng Zuliang put forward four requirements for the next work:

First, we should create classic projects and strengthen the strategic thinking and determination of world-class enterprises. The building of classic projects is necessary for high-quality and connotative development, and it should be conducted from five aspects. The first is to take high recognition of property owners and the industry as a benchmark for measuring the quality and level of classic projects. The second is to build classic brands through classic projects and fully leverage the demonstration effect. The third is to carefully summarize the advantages and experience of classic projects, and give new connotations to the core competitiveness and core functions of the enterprise. The fourth is to balance the social and economic value of classic projects, and achieve both praise and approval. The last is to cultivate a talent team through project construction and form an advantage in talent pool.

Second, we should make good use of classic projects and implement the inherent requirements for promoting industrial modernization and governance modernization. We should reflect on the important enlightenment of classic projects on industrial modernization and governance modernization, and give full play to the role of advanced experience in improving the project management system and standards system, while promoting the culture of innovation and creating a good atmosphere of full participation to continuously inject new momentum into building a world-class enterprise.

Third, we should sort out classic projects and focus on spillover effects to achieve effective strategic layout. We should carefully sort out the spillover scenarios of classic projects, focus on the connection with owners and the favorable expansion brought about by project extension, and create favorable conditions for market expansion.

Fourth, we should empower classic projects and establish platforms for cultivating and utilizing talents effectively. We should give full play to the role of classic projects as a platform to train and select talents, and build a talent team with the spirit of hard work and responsibility.
