On the afternoon of November 6, 2024, Chen Dexin, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, met with Zhang Xin, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to Zhang Xin and his delegation and expressed his gratitude to the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Guangdong Province for their long-term strong support for China Minmetals. Later, he briefly introduced the development history and basic status of China Minmetals. Chen noted that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, kept in mind its original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry", and formed a business system mainly composed of metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate. At present, it is earnestly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, focusing on its primary responsibilities and key business, and working to give full play to the "three roles" of central state-owned enterprises ("central SOEs" for short) in technological innovation, industrial control and safety support. Besides, it is continuously enhancing its core functions, improving its core competitiveness, and striving to fulfill the requirements of "working hard for 60 days and striving for excellent performance throughout the year" in all aspects, so as to ensure the completion of annual target tasks with high quality and efficiency. As for the future plan, it will firmly grasp the importance of cooperation between central SOEs and local governments in promoting high-quality economic and social development and advancing Chinese path to modernization. It will further strengthen strategic cooperation with the People's Government of Guangdong Province, make concerted efforts to promote various businesses in Guangdong, and set a model for cooperation between central SOEs and local governments.

Zhang Xin expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Guangdong Province over the years. He said that China Minmetals was one of the important partners of the People's Government of Guangdong Province while the province pursued rapid development. He noted that the two sides had jointly launched multiple cooperation projects between central SOEs and local governments. Under this backdrop, he hoped that both sides could further carry out strategic cooperation at a higher, deeper level and in wider fields, promote the integrated development of central SOEs and local governments, and work together to create a new model of cooperation between central SOEs and local governments in the new era.
