On January 13, 2025, on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese New Year, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, paid visits to extend his regards to retired leaders Zhou Keren and Zhou Zhongshu. He expressed his gratitude for their longstanding contributions to the reform and development of China Minmetals and conveyed his New Year’s blessings. Wang Jiezhi, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of China Minmetals, accompanied him during the visit.

Chen Dexin and his delegation visited former senior leaders Zhou Keren and Zhou Zhongshu, inquiring about their health and living conditions. He also provided updates on China Minmetals’ business achievements in 2024 and outlined its work plans for the upcoming period. Chen Dexin said that in 2024, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China Minmetals resolutely implemented the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, as well as the guiding principles of Central Economic Work Conference. It achieved steady progress in production and operations, delivered remarkable results in key projects, continued to optimize its industrial system, energized reform and innovation, strengthened risk management, ensured effective implementation of inspection rectifications, and provided strong support through Party building. These efforts continuously enhanced its core functions and competitiveness, fully demonstrating the central state-owned enterprise’s role as a “pillar” and “ballast stone.” Looking ahead to 2025, China Minmetals will adhere to the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, and unwaveringly promote high-quality development. It will accelerate its transformation into a world-class metal and mining enterprise group with global competitiveness, contributing even more significantly to Chinese path to modernization.

Chen Dexin pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping had repeatedly issued important instructions on the work regarding the arrangements for retired officials, fully reflecting the CPC Central Committee’s respect and care for retired cadres and its high expectations for those engaged in this work. He emphasized that China Minmetals should take the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions as the fundamental guideline, diligently fulfill its responsibilities, and provide services with dedication and sincerity. He hoped that the retired leaders would enjoy their retirement while continuing to pay attention to and support China Minmetals’ endeavors, offering advice and suggestions to contribute to its high-quality development.

Zhou Keren and Zhou Zhongshu expressed their gratitude to the Party Group of China Minmetals for its concern and care and and congratulated China Minmetals on a series of gratifying achievements. They hoped that China Minmetals would bravely undertake its mission, and continue to make progress.
