On March 17, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Bater, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the Hainan Provincial People’s Government. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation.

Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Bater, and CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and expressed his gratitude to CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Hainan Provincial People's Government for its strong support for the development of China Minmetals. Later, he briefed the development of China Minmetals. Later, he briefly introduced the overall status of China Minmetals. He said that China Minmetals, since its establishment in 1950, had remained committed to its founding mission of “serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry”. The Company had evolved from a specialized foreign trade entity into a metals and mining conglomerate with global competitiveness and boasted a diversified portfolio covering metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, science and technology industry, trade & logistics, and financial real estate, establishing an integrated advantage across the whole metal mining industry chain. China Minmetals attached great importance to the strategic cooperation with Hainan. He expressed hope that the two sides will, based on existing collaboration, further enhance exchanges, strengthen coordination, and leverage their advantages to expand and deep cooperation in areas such as trade and logistics, municipal transportation infrastructure construction, and financial business, contributing their power to achieving high-quality, sustainable, mutually beneficial and win-win development with characteristics, and building a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.

Bater expressed his thanks to China Minmetals for its strong support for Hainan’s economic and social development, and briefly introduced basic information of Hainan. He said that Hainan is making efforts to promote the development of four leading industries, including tourism, modern service industry, high-tech industry and efficient agriculture with tropical characteristics at present, and accelerate the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics. China Minmetals enjoys solid cooperation and profound friendship with Hainan. He also expressed a hope that, the two sides will seize the historical opportunity, strengthen in-depth exchanges, deepen cooperation in multiple fields, plan to promote the implementation of more projects and achieve practical results. Hainan will, as always, provide more high-quality services for the high-quality development of affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals in Hainan.

Relevant leaders of Hunan Province, along with department heads from China Minmetals' headquarters, and directly-managed enterprises attended the meeting.
