China Minmetals Corporation 2025-05-19
On April 22, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Huang Changgeng, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. ("XTC"), who visited for discussions. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation.
Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to Huang Changgeng and his delegation and provided an overview of China Minmetals' development. He stated that since its founding in 1950, China Minmetals has consistently upheld its founding mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". The company has evolved from a specialized foreign trade entity into a globally competitive metals and minerals conglomerate, establishing a business system focused on metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, technology development, trade & logistics, financial services and real estate. This year, China Minmetals has completed the establishment of China Salt Lake Group in partnership with the Qinghai Provincial People's Government, and signed an agreement with Anglo American to successfully acquire Brazilian Nickel Limited. These initiatives reflect concrete measures to ensure the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources, sustaining the company's robust and stable growth. China Minmetals highly values its strategic cooperation with XTC. The two sides have built a long-term, stable partnership, fostering a positive dynamic of "mutual integration and joint progress". Chen expressed hope that, building on existing cooperation, both parties would further enhance communication and coordination, leverage complementary strengths, explore collaboration opportunities in tungsten and molybdenum industries, trade, new energy, and new materials, and innovate cooperation models. By jointly supporting national strategies, they aim to contribute more to strengthening the resilience and security of industrial and supply chains.
Huang Changgeng thanked China Minmetals for its trust and support toward XTC, recalling the history of friendly cooperation between the two sides and introducing Xiamen Tungsten's core operations. He noted that XTC is dedicated to three key businesses: tungsten and molybdenum, new energy materials, and rare earths. Through continuous technological and management innovation, the company has become a globally recognized manufacturer of cemented carbide and related tools, lithium battery cathode materials, and rare earth permanent magnet materials. Over nearly 30 years of collaboration, XTC has established a trustworthy partnership with China Minmetals. Huang expressed hope that both sides would deepen communication and coordination, capitalize on their respective strengths, expand cooperation areas, elevate collaboration levels, and achieve higher-quality, mutually beneficial development.
Officials from XTC, as well as heads of relevant departments and subsidiaries of China Minmetals, attended the meeting.
