On April 25, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited Minemtals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd.(Minemtals Exploration) to conduct research and provide guidance. During the visit, he extended his regards to the company’s employees, engaged in cordial exchanges with them, and conveyed his encouragement and support.
Chen Dexin gained a detailed understanding of the mining database in Minemtals Exploration & Development Co., Ltd., resource evaluation system, mining rights management system, and 3D visualization platform development. He remotely inspected on-site production operations at the Longjiang Graphite Project, including mining, mineral processing, spherical graphite, and high-purity graphite production. He listened to a comprehensive work report from the company, conducted on-site analyses of key challenges in corporate development, and discussed solutions. Additionally, he encouraged employees to remain true to the original aspiration and mission, focus on their functional positioning, adhere to bottom-line thinking, and continue playing an active role in advancing the high-quality development of China Minmetals and building a globally competitive world-class metal and mineral enterprise group.
Chen Dexin emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the important directives of the General Secretary Xi Jinping on national energy security and natural resource management, the spirit of the reply letter sent by the General Secretary Xi Jinping to all geological workers of the No.6 Geological Team of Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, as well as a series of critical instructions for central state-owned enterprises. He stressed the importance of continuously strengthening mineral resource exploration, development, and reserve enhancement to improve China Minmetals’ capacity for securing mineral resource supplies.
Focusing on enhancing core functions, he called for reinforcing support for resource evaluation and acquisition, advancing the three-pronged strategy for resource development, and steadily promoting the operation of the graphite industry chain in a corporate way.
To boost core competitiveness, he urged leveraging technological innovation to empower geological prospecting, emphasizing both basic research and application. This includes deepening studies on critical metallogenic zones and target areas, refining the mining data platform, actively adopting cutting-edge technologies like AI, and building an integrated exploration technology system covering space, air, surface and underground to drive deep integration of the “four chains”. Additionally, he highlighted the need to explore mechanisms for mining rights transfer and geological prospecting incentives, while improving talent cultivation systems to bolster professional expertise in geological exploration.
Focusing on the Party leadership, Chen underscored that high-quality Party building must lead high-quality corporate growth. He advocated rigorous implementation of the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight Provisions through systematic education, ensuring substantive learning, in-depth review, and effective rectification.
