On the afternoon of May 19, 2025, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Tang Peihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jiuquan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Jiuquan, and his delegation for in-depth exchanges on further strengthening the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Chen Dexin welcomed the visit of Tang Peihong and his delegation, and briefly introduced the development status of China Minmetals. He said that China Minmetals always kept in mind and practiced the original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". After 75 years of development, it has successfully evolved from its early beginnings as a foreign trade enterprise into a globally influential powerhouse in the metals and minerals industry. Currently, it owns over 40 mines both domestically and internationally, 47 national technological platforms, and 19 exploration and design research institutes. These assets continue to contribute to ensuring the supply and security of China's metal and mineral resources. Since China Minmetals and the People's Government of Gansu Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement in March this year, they have been effectively promoting the relevant work in an orderly manner. Building on a foundation of friendly cooperation, the collaboration with Jiuquan City will be further expanded to a comprehensive, wide-ranging, and in-depth partnership. It is hoped that both sides will fully leverage their respective advantages, conduct in-depth research and strengthen alignment in key areas such as mineral resource development, technological innovation, and talent exchange, jointly serving the national strategy and creating more fruitful outcomes of cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments.

Tang Peihong expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its strong support of Jiuquan's economic and social development, and focused on introducing the city's mineral resources. According to his statement, Jiuquan is a resource-rich city in Gansu Province, located in three major metallogenic belts - Beishan, Qilian, and Altyn Tagh. Jiuquan, which is rich in mineral resources and enjoys good development conditions for mining, has achieved fruitful results in exploration breakthroughs. He hoped to strengthen the alignment with China Minmetals for further focusing on key projects. He stressed that Jiuquan would, as always, take the initiative to provide proactive services and fully support the development of China Minmetals in Jiuquan.

The meeting was also attended by Wang Jionghui, Chief Technical Expert of China Minmetals, and heads of relevant headquarters departments and affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals and officials from Jiuquan City.
