On June 17-18 local time, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, visited the Las Bambas Mine in Peru, launched safety inspections in the mining area and production frontline, and extended his warm regards to the frontline cadres and employees there. 

Chen Dexin toured several sites at the Las Bambas Mine, including the Lima office, the integrated remote operations control center, mining areas F and C, the mechanical workshop, the ore dressing plant, and the tailings dam. He gained an in-depth understanding of the aspects such as the company's production organization, safety and environmental protection, equipment operation and maintenance, resource recovery, and digitalization efforts. He then analyzed key challenges and difficulties on-site concerning efficiency improvement, resource utilization, environmental management, and work safety. Engaging warmly with frontline staff from both China and Peru, he solicited their feedback and suggestions. Besides, he encouraged the team to further capitalize on strength of its Sino-Peruvian international team, promote a culture of "real actions with actual results", and strive to make Las Bambas a world-leading mine that is "united, forward-looking, green, low-carbon, safe and high-efficiency", contributing significantly to China Minmetals' aspiration of becoming a world-class powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry. 

Chen Dexin emphasized that President Xi Jinping mentioned the contributions of the Las Bambas Mine twice - during his visit to Peru and during Peruvian President Dina Boluarte's visit to China. Under this backdrop, it is crucial to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached during the meeting between the two heads of state, anchor the positioning of a "global resource flagship", and enhance the enterprise's capabilities in safety & environmental protection, cost control, operational efficiency, resource continuity, comprehensive utilization, and social contribution in all respects, striving to build a global model for mine construction and operation. It is essential to deeply practice the safety culture of "Life above All, Safety First". High standards must be applied to fulfill safety and environmental responsibilities, and risk management must be strengthened throughout the entire process of mining, processing, and operation & maintenance to firmly uphold the bottom line and red lines of safety. It is also crucial to adhere to profit creation through cost-accounting management, efficiency enhancement through meticulous management, and performance improvement through reform and innovation. Breakthroughs must be achieved in organizational resilience, technological iteration, and model optimization, thereby driving continuous improvement in key economic and technical indicators. It is essential to adopt the mindset of "putting experiments to the test on the ground" to drive technological innovation, thereby enhancing the recovery rates of resources such as copper, molybdenum, gold, and silver. It is also necessary to establish a comprehensive development framework of "multiple products from one mine" to maximize resource value. Furthermore, it is imperative to accelerate the construction of integrated industrial chains. By consolidating upstream and downstream resources through the "chain leader system", a collaborative, progressive, and mutually beneficial industrial structure can be formed. Moreover, it is vital to firmly establish the management philosophy of "coordination with boundaries, incentives with warmth", aiming to build an organizational ecosystem with clearly defined responsibilities and highly efficient operations. This will help leverage the cohesion of organizational structures and ensure lawful and compliant business practices. The guiding role of performance appraisal as the "baton" should be fully played. In addition, it is crucial to establish a sound performance system, stimulate internal drive, and propel the achievement of objectives, ultimately contributing to the joint construction of a "Minmetals Community with a Shared Future".
