Zhu Kebing Chairs a Research Symposium for Affiliated Enterprises of China Minmetals in Beijing

China Minmetals Corporation 2025-07-14

On July 1, 2025, Zhu Kebing, President and Deputy Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, chaired a research symposium for affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals in Beijing. At the symposium, the participants thoroughly studied and implemented the guiding principles contained in General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions regarding the formulation of the planning set for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, and gathered collective wisdom to map out the development blueprint for China Minmetals over the next five years. Xu Jiqing, Party Group Member and Vice President of China Minmetals, was present at the symposium.

The participants heard presentations from China Minmetals Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., Minmetals Capital Co., Ltd., Minmetals Finance Co., Ltd., Minmetals Capital Co., Ltd., Minmetals Innovation Investment Co., Ltd. and other affiliated enterprises of China Minmetals in Beijing. These presentations covered the progress of the planning set for the 14th Five-Year Plan period, initial thoughts on the planning set for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, industrial layout optimization, development of new quality productive forces, and related suggestions for China Minmetals' planning set for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The symposium also featured thorough exchanges and discussions.

In his speech, Zhu Kebing stated that when it comes to successfully formulating the planning set for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the primary task is to thoroughly study and grasp the CPC Central Committee's scientific conclusions of the current picture and its strategic layout for future development. It is essential to firmly hold onto the strategic mission and functional orientation of China Minmetals, closely focus on striving to be "three vanguards" and exerting "three functions", and strengthen core capabilities to improve core competitiveness. These enterprises should profoundly comprehend the mission and tasks assigned by China Minmetals, take China Minmetals' plan as the overarching guideline, and precisely locate themselves in the overall plan and industrial plan. The formulation of planning goals should go beyond conventional thinking and emphasize forward-looking leadership. Ambitious targets should be set according to the principle of "Going the Extra Mile to Reap Rewards", ensuring seamless alignment and close integration between the affiliated enterprise's plan and China Minmetals' plan in terms of directions, objectives, and tasks. It is essential to gain a clear understanding of its own existing assets, thoroughly review and inventory current business assets, and clearly define "what to strengthen and grow, what to transform and upgrade, and what to cut losses on". By advancing in some areas and withdrawing from others, industrial structure adjustment and layout optimization can be effectively achieved. In addition, it is necessary to further sort out the composition of revenue indicators in the planning goal system. Faced with a shrinking market and changes in the competitive landscape, they should conduct in-depth research on the transformation of operation and management models, resolutely abandon the "obsession with large scales", and pay more attention to efficiency, risk prevention & control, and development quality. Taking the compilation of the plan as a chance, the headquarters departments should actively set up platforms for communication, exchange and business collaboration among these enterprises. Each industrial planning team should share information and resources, and pool their efforts to formulate an industrial plan which conforms to central government's guidelines, China Minmetals' strategy and actual conditions of its own enterprise.

Participants included the heads of relevant headquarter departments of China Minmetals, as well as the heads and other personnel of some affiliated companies of China Minmetals in Beijing.
